Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Hope Mills

Easter Sunday, I had a craving for BBQ chicken… and I happened to see the sign at this location “ask us about our BBQ chicken” so I stopped in and ordered a $10 dark meat bbq chicken plate. I was served the smallest, most tiniest, just sad looking little leg and thigh I have EVER laid my eyes on. Im not usually a person to go back into a place to complain… but this plate was just ridiculous. I go inside, with the chicken and the young lady tells me that that is just the size of all of their chicken.. and the only reason it looks bigger when it’s fried is because of the breading. 🤯🤯 I was kind of waiting for her to maybe offer some kind of remedy to the situation… but she didn’t. She just kept telling me “yeah..that’s just how our chicken looks” honestly, if she would have just offered me maybe another piece of their miniature chicken legs, I would have been satisfied enough and just left it at that. But instead, it seemed she would rather have me give them that whole plate, throw it out, and replace my meal with a bbq sandwich meal. And the entire time every single employee in the kitchen is glaring at me like I kicked their puppy.

So… now that I know they are serving miniature pieces of chicken apparently covered in so much breading that it SEEMS like they’re handing you a nice size piece of juicy chicken… I wont be back. Rip off. I wish I would have taken a picture, but honestly I was a little to hangry and upset in the heat...

What would you expect for 20 dollars of your income? When you ask for a shrimp and bbq platter you definitely expect a proportionate amount of each and to be cooked with effort and satisfaction in mind.

What I received was anything but that. I'll focus on the shrimp portion as it was the lest desirable of the entire order. The shrimp was barely half the area for it and the breading was hardly even covering the shrimp and had more grease soaked in that your favorite tune station oil change stall. Part of eating out is out of convenience but there's an expectation of quality and it was not meet this time.

06/2024 Update: what a wonderful father's day treat my wife brought home knowing I love bbq in actuality this was far from a wonderful meal. 3ozs of pulled pork!! For 15 dollars a shrimp and bbq plate should have far more than that. Pork shoulder is .99lb at most places and it's nice to not wait all day to smoke some when you get a craving but this is ridiculous! Not acceptable and at this point completely dissatisfied with...

When I recently ordered on the app for this establishment The App was fairly easy to use, but there was some misinformation under the tailgate specials. I clicked on and ordered the tenders tailgate Under that exact link, it gave you the option between white and dark meat and one of those got clicked under the tenders option and I end up getting dark meat instead Of tenders?? It was very confusing. Second of all, when my husband went to go pick up the order the person who was taking the order on the microphone, could not hear what he was saying, and then claimed she could barely hear due to her age in which case maybe just maybe she shouldn’t be working the drive-through???? Third, when we got our food, I have never had such soggy fries in my entire life. It was disgusting. The chicken?
