LTD Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Hopkins

Through a few visits I've built a pretty solid read on the brewery here. Overall LTD has good place with a calm atmosphere, uncomplicated vibe, and good beer. There's usually a good spread of beer types though the slant is typically more standard pale ale styles. The place is clean with nice decorations. Not much else to say, my experiences have been pretty positive.

One sort of weird thing that separates LTD from other breweries is their table service style of serving over counter service. It isn't really a good or a bad thing, but it did catch me off guard the first time I visited. However, the staff have always been helpful and friendly, never leaving you without a drink for too long. I think there's also the option of visiting the counter as needed.

I was quite impressed by their beer. My wife and I had a flight and we liked all of them. I normally don't like pumpkin beers, but theirs had a clean subtle flavor. I had the double IPA last, so my taste buds were skewed, but it was good too. My wife and I agreed on a growler of the Chocolate Porter. It is really good. The staff is very friendly and it has a very inviting atmosphere. Couches, board games, even coloring books (which is great for us parents).

Adding on a few years later: LTD is our favorite brewery in the metro for its selection and quality, friendly pub atmosphere, and great location.

Even more later: they've been open 10 years and still carry on the vibe. Great variety and high quality: sours, stouts, ales of all sorts. They do a nice job of always having a crowd pleasing assortment. Lots of nearby restaurants to get food from. Bike, dog and...

They no longer prefer customers to grab beers at the counter, instead it is now table service. Not that strange, but when we went to sit outside, they do not have a full list of their beers and we waited 20+minutes and no one came outside to take orders so we left! Sad establishment, they were pretty empty for a weekend. LTD needs a serious marketing lesson from more successful breweries like Excelsior Brewery, Waconia Brewery, and Lift Bridge.
