Pizza Lucé Hopkins — Restaurant in Hopkins

I have ordered curbside pickup here twice with good success but the last time (Sunday in 2025) was ridiculous. It was the same ordering process and I got a text that said I could respond with HERE and the curbside spot I was parking in. I did just that after arriving 3 minutes into my 10 minute pickup slot. I waited and waited and no one came out. I even hit the "I have arrived" button in the email in case the text was not effective. There were other people parked in the curbside spots which are clearly marked with signs, and some the customers did seem to be coming and going so finally after about 20 minutes (13 minutes after my window ended) I decided to go inside the restaurant. I had seen one person who appeared to be a Luce employee giving someone food outside the door of the restaurant but not actually at the car and that person looked down to see all the vehicles parked in the curbside spots. I also observed the curbside signs now have "or come in" written in marker. After the suspected employee did not come out again I was pretty suspicious the process changed or they were too busy or something. Lo and behold I go into the restaurant and there is a counter with two heaters filled with pizzas and other food. I had to wait 5 minutes for someone else to be helped with picking up their order and then the counterperson gave me mine which had probably been sitting in there the entire time I was waiting outside. The person who helped me was the employee I saw 3 steps outside the door giving someone else food while at least 3-4 other people were in curbside spots. He apparently had zero intention of handing them their order or informing them they needed to go inside to pick it up. If you want your customers to come inside to pick up their food then spend the money to change your online ordering process and the signage outside your business to inform customers of the actual process and expectations. You also did a terrible job...

We go into the Hopkins Pizza Luce from time to time and generally have a decent experience, though the service tends to be a bit a bit slow whether they're busy or not. The wings there are good so it's been worth the slowness. We went in today so we could eat some wings, have a drink or two and grab a couple of pizzas to go. We sat down and asked the person behind the bar what they had for coffee like drinks. They responded that they didn't really have any alcoholic drinks like that. A bit annoyed, I decided to just order a beer and let it go. They gave us food menus and away we went. After about 25 minutes and our menu slid back to them, still no one asking if we wanted food. Another worker asked if we were done with the menu, we said yes and they took the menu and that was it. Didn't ask what we wanted. After flagging down the server 10 minutes later, we just ordered the pizza to go. 45 minutes later no pizza and just wanted to cancel the order. At that point they gave us the pizzas, saying they just came out. When we opened them up it was obvious they had just been sitting out for awhile and were cold and slightly terrible. Super disappointing. Throughout all of this, another couple comes in and asks for some sort of espresso drink and the server made some sort of comment about there being no espresso, just coffee press or something like AND they got food before we were ever acknowledged. Attended a birthday gathering here last night. It was nice they had a "room" off to the right behind the hostess stand, so we weren't just out in the middle of the restaurant; making it easy for us all to roam from table to table chatting. Personally I enjoyed that they had a big tv... I randomly glanced over to... to see them airing You've Got Mail then... Footloose. Two solid choices. I was tasked w sitting near the Gluten Free appetizer table... I didn't pay close attention when she'd bring them in and tell me: this is gluten free w a dairy free dip. Hooray no allergy arose!Our server who I forgot to ask her name in her multiple oh so many trips to the room; took great care of us; bringing out beverages, apps, water pitchers and meals. I think the bald man who brought out several items too may have been the manager. Parking was easy in their private lot. Everyone enjoyed our couple of hours gathering at Pizza Luce w the great and attentive service, delicious food and our private room. I use the term room loosely as it's a room but two of the walls are essentially half walls, so you're not in some closed off area, we could still see out to the hostess stand, the doors and partial restaurant.
