It was our first time going to the English muffin, me & my husband were on vacation in hot springs & we always ate at the pancake shop or the colonial pancake house. When we sat down at the English muffin, our waitress asked if we would like coffee. I said “yes, I would love some coffee!”, a little bit excitedly. Our waitress then said, smugly “oh my gosh, you’re that excited for coffee?” She made me feel stupid for my emotions and I told her “yes ma’am, our condo doesn’t have a coffee maker and this will be my first cup of the morning.” We each ordered a separate meal and decided to order an extra French toast to share. She brought out our meals, except for the French toast. No problem, maybe there still cooking them. We are almost done and still no French toast. Waitress never came back to check on us or even to mention the absent French toast to see if we still wanted them. We were given two tickets, stapled together. The back ticket had our French toast marked out & a new ticket was written without the order of French toast, so I knew our waitress knew we didn’t receive the order. I went to cashier to pay. I assume the cashier was the owner/manager and I told her to check the front ticket to make sure we weren’t being charged for the French toast bc we never got them. (Handwriting was damn near illegible) she said as she pointed to back ticket, see it’s marked out & this is the new ticket”. She also NEVER apologized. She acted like it was nothing new, just another day. Will we go back next time we visit hot springs, doubtably, there’s way too many good breakfast spots, than to waste our time & money on the English muffin. being generous with the rating only bc it was clean, cute diner and the food was ok. Honestly I prefer the pancake shops on central to...
Read morei’ve been to this establishment twice, once being a pick up. called this morning to make this experience a pick up as well when the lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude. she said to “give her a second” and when she got back on the phone repeatedly said she “couldn’t hear me” and was yelling “hello hello” obnoxiously over me trying to order. this was near the same experience as the time before when i ordered for pick up as well. we decided to just go eat inside despite the experience over the phone and we’re just as baffled when get got inside. we were immediately told to “sit anywhere” with only 2 dirty tables available. we decided to wait on the table for 4 to avoid taking a bigger table for others, and were stared like we we’re stupid for a good 40 seconds, after we had to explain twice why we were waiting for a smaller table to be cleaned. the atmosphere is very chaotic and disorganized, with a certain type of “aggressive southern hospitality” in the air. i understand things are busy, and it’s a very popular spot, southern hospitality is what they were going for; however maybe still attempt to make experiences for others also enjoyable. not to mention there’s a very limited space to the point of other customers pushing chairs of people currently eating. while we were eating an older lady walked out with a pick up. food is great is but not worth it, for somewhere this busy you’d think they would appreciate the carry out business in leu of lack is space...
Read moreNOT a good experience at all, which is really sad, because we were really looking forward to trying this place out based on the reviews. We ordered the eggs "over medium" and they were super runny to the point that my girlfriend wouldn't eat them. I ordered chicken and waffles and it was truly awful. The (only) waffle was dry and tasteless. I've had better waffles at the free breakfast you get at hotels. Worse, the chicken was just some generic frozen tender they buy in bulk and just slice it up and toss it on top. It was also dry and tasteless. Even a healthy dose of syrup couldn't save the chicken, nor the waffle! The waitress dropped off the food in a rush & NEVER came by to check on us. When she brought the bill, she seemed oblivious that we basically didn't eat any of the food. While paying the bill, I mentioned to the lady (who's apparently the girlfriend of the owner) that the food wasn't good. I showed her the pictures you see in this review. She said "sorry" and made a few excuses (she "doesn't like chicken and waffles," and "maybe the chicken wasn't good because of the vendor," "the waitress is usually better about that" and whatever). She offered to take 10% off our bill, but that was laughable so I declined and just paid it. At least the coffee was good. We definitely won't be back. I can make better...
