Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Hot Springs

Giving this place a one star rating is very disheartening. I reached out to tropical smoothie customer service, over two weeks ago, about some repeated bad experiences and have heard nothing back. My boyfriend and I are pretty regular customers. The staff doesn't know us by name but they recognize our faces, get excited when we come in, and have been told by more than one of them that we're, "kind of my favorite customers." We would go at least once every two weeks, sometimes more, for two smoothies. One of them has been bad on four separate occasions. My boyfriend always orders a sunrise sunset. We tend to go later in the day around the end of business or later, like 8pm. The first time this happened, he tasted it and said it tasted sour. I tried it and it tasted kind of flat, like maybe the orange juice was starting to sour. They remade it, tried it themselves, made another with fresh ingredients and all was good; no big deal. The second incident wasn't the very next visit but the one after that. Same thing happened. We ordered, tasted the smoothie and it was sour, they remade it and all was good. We didn't make too much of it because of the time of day we were going. I used to work in fast food. Anytime around 5pm is when you start to flip everything to prep for the next day. The next visit it happened again but it tasted worse. It was so much more sour and bitter like more than one ingredient had gone bad. He ordered something else and everything was fine but it was starting to become a problem. The last time went was on May 15th and it happened again expect this time he ordered an orange ginger glow with strawberries. Again, it tasted very sour, they remade it and we left. The more he drank it the more he kept saying it still didn't taste right. His palate is more sensitive than mine. I tried it and it didn't taste bad bit I could tell the ingredients weren't very fresh. While we were sipping on it we both found little white hairs. They were about 1/4in long and very coarse. Mine boyfriend has a mustache and beard so I initially thought it was from him because the hair I found was on the tip of the straw. The more I drank it, the more of them I found. There wasn't anyone there with white, not even a customer. Ginger grows thick, coarse hairs when it goes bad. The hairs were 1/4in long after being blended! If they were that long after being blended then they were most definitely noticeable beforehand. It really sucks that this is the only tropical smoothie cafe in my area and their customer service team won't even respond to me, even though I received an email stating they'd...

Ok……… We are back to the BS. I’ve been sitting in the drive-through window now for over 10 minutes just to watch the employee drop my flatbread on the ground. I cannot wait to see how horrible the food is gonna be. It would be nice if there was just some consistency here. They go from horrible to way better back to worse than before. Does the management not ever read the reviews? Does nobody in corporate care about how this branch is being operated? This is absolutely ridiculous. If I wouldn’t have paid with a card, I would’ve asked for my money back five minutes ago because we’re coming up on 15 minutes now, and I still have not received anything in the way of my food or the smoothie that is mine which I’m looking at right now at the window I’m sure it’s warm by now.

Over the last couple of months the service has been getting worse and worse and worse. From the smoothies my whole family orders being partially blended and full of ice to the orders being completely wrong, giving me a “three cheese chicken” with no chicken in it at all. Ummmm hello! I get the same smoothies twice a week. I get down the road and sip my smoothie and it tasted like ice with a tiny hint of flavor, so I try my daughter’s smoothie and it has even less of a taste. Like I said, I get these twice a week so I know what they taste like. I take them back and very nicely say these don’t taste right. I told them they had no flavor and just tasted like ice with a hint of flavor. I even said I’ll pay to add extra flavor. They remake them and hand them over. I drive off expecting the same yummy goodness I usually get and nothing - they taste the same as the originals. What’s up? Are y’all trying to cut cost and skimp on the fruits or something. I get home and my daughter says this doesn’t have any flavor. I said yep but for $15 we are gonna drink them. Not impressed at all, Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
