Very nice casino, its clean, spacious, modern facilities, state of the art deco and ambiance. The restaurants have great food in the second floor as soon as you take the escalator. Unfortunately not everything went as perfectly as we wished and at time of checking in the front desk staff turned a sweet experience very sour, very quickly. Out of courtesy we asked if we could park our semi truck and when i was asking about where to park, almost instantly regretted my decision. Funny that only the front desk (Jennifer) had a problem with this and whomever she called on the radio, because by then i had asked a couple of security and they seemed to be fine with us parking as long as it didnt disrupt other guests parking. A reasonable request right? Front desk on the other hand changed the whole experience around and started treating us like we were unwelcomed, took awhile to get permission to park and when it was granted reluctantly, we were told to park as far away as possible in a very rude manner, Im asking to be shown where specifically and she just kept pointing out 'somewhere' as far as possible almost like getting kicked away. The older gentleman driving the security patrol car in the parking was a completely different story, even drove me to my truck and gave me recommendations to park and a mini tour of the casino. He should be the one running the front desk if you asked us. You already charged and arm and a leg for a room plus 250 deposit for 'damages' and we still get treated like were a nuisance instead of a regular guest. Deducted 2 stars for this scenario. Would've been an easy 5 star experience had the front desk not ruined the welcoming, which it felt like targeting a certain demographic that sadly could be your best clientele because we like spending just like any of your regulars if not better. I would suggest your management to assign an area for us big vehicle drivers and RV's to avoid this uncomfortable scenario. Other than that, everything else was perfect! Sorry for being honest, but i dont like sugarcoating an experience that could've...
Read moreOaklawn Casino presents a gaming experience with both notable features and areas for improvement. The slot machine area, in particular, could benefit from a more intuitive layout. Machines with significantly different wagering requirements, such as $30 and $3 slots, are often placed in close proximity, which can be disorienting for players trying to manage their budget. During five separate visits, I was never offered drink service, requiring me to seek out beverages independently and endure long lines. From a gaming perspective, personal outcomes have consistently resulted in losses, which, while not uncommon in a casino environment, has been a consistent experience across multiple visits. Additionally, the interior design, characterized by relatively low ceilings, has been noted to induce feelings of claustrophobia for some, impacting comfort levels during extended stays. While offering a range of gaming options, these aspects of the Oaklawn Casino experience warrant...
Read moreThey had horse races going on today. I would suggest you don’t try and go to the casino on horse racing days. I had to park way in the back of the parking lot and went to a shuttle stop only to sit for about 20 minutes while 3 shuttles drove past me and the drivers just waved at me! I finally walked to a security guard and he said he could call me one, because those were for employees. Again I waited and finally just walked in all the way. Talked with 3 different people about it and just kept getting sent to someone else. Without going over the rest of my bad experience I dropped my players card on the persons desk at the service center and told her I was done with this casino. All she did was accuse me of throwing my players card at her. Customer service at this casino is...
