Ashford pub — Restaurant in Houston

I went to Ashford Pub for the Wednesday steak night. It turns out they have 2 choices for the night, a $12 t-bone or if you feel like more meat, you can get a $14 sirloin. Both steaks come with mashed potato and all the salad and desserts you can eat. The salad and the dessert is set up on the corner of the pub along with your utensils, plastic bowl, and paper towel.

The pub have a good selection of beers on tap with a good chunk of local Houston craft brewery for the choosing. If you are not sure on what to get, the bartender here knows their beer or if you really want, you can always ask for a sample. As it turns out, Wednesday is also their poker night where you could win big prize. Given my friend and I were there already and the game's about to start, we might as well stay for the poker.

There's always a decent crowd for the poker as there was two full tables and people can come and go as it's not tournament style. If you run out of chips, there will be a list of the beers you can buy and that will re-charge your chip count. This place also have pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, and of course the Internet jukebox. I really like this neighborhood pub and I will make sure to come back again...

This is a HUGH place. Parking is plentiful. They have a small outdoor area that mostly is covered, but blowing rain would hit customers. Inside there are paid pool tables and a full-size paid shuffleboard table. Free food often is offered. They don't seem to have a fixed menu but paid food is available on some evenings. Wednesday is steak night; it is a tremendous value: most Energy Corridor bars offer rib eye -- last Wednesday, the choices were filet mignon or New York strip. Because of the low price, steak is "dine in" only, though an uneaten portion may be taken out. Food quality...

I rarely drink and even rarer do I go to bars. That said I came in alone 30 min before closing and tried to order a drink. I let the blonde woman who was tending what I wanted and she mumbled something and walked away. I waited because I thought there may have been a misunderstanding. When she came back I once again expressed interest in a drink. I was told “I can tell you’re gonna cause trouble and you need to leave”.
