🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Absolutely fantastic experience at BHBG Coffee! ā˜•ļøāœØ The ambiance is top-notch, with a cozy and intimate setting that's perfect for both work and relaxation. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. 😊 Started off with their Irish coffee and brisket bear claw, and oh my goodness, they were both absolutely delicious! šŸ€šŸ„ The flavors were spot-on, and it's clear that they put a lot of care and attention into their menu offerings. šŸ‘Œ But the real highlight for me was the drip coffee - it was simply out of this world and I really appreciate a freshly brewed coffee! ā˜•ļøšŸŒŽ Every sip was a delight, and it truly made the entire experience worth it. Highly recommend trying it out! Whether you prefer sitting inside or outside, BHBG Coffee has you covered. Both seating options offer a lovely atmosphere to enjoy your coffee and treats. ā˜€ļøšŸƒ Overall, I can't recommend BHBG Coffee enough. It's the perfect spot to unwind, catch up on work, or simply enjoy some fantastic coffee and pastries. Can't wait to visit again! šŸ¤©ā˜•ļø

BHBG Cafe is short for Bayou Heights Bier Garten and is connected to a beer garden next door in the Heights. The inside of the cafe is pretty small with few seats, but they have a wide variety of drinks and in-house pastries. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was packed! I got the kouign amman, brown sugar iced latte, and white mocha iced latte. They had a lot of syrup options for lattes. The drinks came in a pretty big-sized cup and were not too overwhelmingly sweet, which I personally prefer. Because of how crowded it was, the order took quite some time to finish at around 45 minutes. They also forget my kouign anman, and I had to ask about it on three separate occasions. However, the kouign amman (once heated at home) was bigger than most kouign ammans I’ve had before and was crispy on the outside and had a nice sweet glaze. Parking is limited with most spots being for valet. Overall, there are a lot of options in regards to the pastries and drinks, but it does take quite some time for orders to come out. There is also limited parking and seating and space inside.

I used to be a regular here, stopped visiting during the summer after I noticed quite a few changes. After my recent visit I’ll just stick to the new places I’ve found, but here’s my recent experience and a general run down.

11/30/24; little before 1pm Parking was confusing given the signs for the Biergarten; drove into the lot seeing a sign that said free parking, but then a valet gentleman was there and the ā€˜free’ parking was blocked off. We ended up parking on the side near the BOA drive thru. Still a cute little interior, noticed a few change ups to the menu and layout. Saw that at the very top of the wall menu, there’s now a general milk charge of $1 on Small bevs(12oz) and $2 on large (16oz). Our last experience, we had a lot of space left in the normal size, and presume maybe the shop is being a bit more mindful. Still, decided to give it a try.

Ordered the same we usually get, two brown sugar cinnamon shaken espressos with oat milk, smaller size this time. We noticed the milk being used wasn’t what we ordered and when we asked, we were told that’s what the paper said. No apologies, no courtesy. Even when I asked for only one to be remade and the other topped off with what I originally ordered, I got a splash and just a pretty cold attitude. Coffee-wise: not only was the order incorrect and missing what we asked for, but it didn’t taste good; I even wondered if they used the full 2 shots bc of the taste. By that time I just was put off by the experience so I just kept it as is.

Pros: Quiet cute coffee shop atmosphere Conveniently next to a Biergarten Average flavor / syrups collection Baked goods are tasty (at least 6 months ago when I last tried it out, not so sure now)

Cons Parking is very confusing and sometimes difficult. Need better organization with the valet; why is valet needed during the day if there’s only 5 cars total in the lot for both businesses? Wi-fi: have to be one of the first ones there, can be agonizingly slow, and/or not working. Not the best for WFH, I’ve had to use my hotspot a few times. Inconsistent with how drinks are made and priced

For the person that likes a decent cup of espresso and feel like it works for you; I’d recommend elsewhere. This place just isn’t consistent enough anymore to be a regular again and you can definitely get more bang for your buck elsewhere. Miss how this...

First and foremost I want to start off by saying I think this place has some of the best coffee in town. The coffee tastes so fresh and it never has that burnt taste you get from star bucks or some other coffee shops we’ve tried. My wife and I absolutely love the coffee here and their little snacks you can munch on.

I’ve tried a variety of things there but recently I fell in love with the oat-chata latte. Holy crap that things dangerous. It tastes like some of the best horchata I’ve ever had. It’s sweet, but not over bearing and the oat milk with the cinnamon hits the spot!

The coffee shop itself is super tiny. There’s some seating inside but it’s connected to a bar where there’s TONS of seating. On a nice cool day it’s beautiful to be outside.

Now, the only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the workers here.. idk what it is but they always seem to be kind of rude. Like not directly rude but indirectly. You say good morning and are ignored sometimes. They just stand there and are basically giving off the vibes like wtf do you want to order. It sometimes feels like coming in to do business annoys them. I’ve legit over heard a worker state how she hates people and is over working and wants to gtfo and go home. I get it. Serving people all day isn’t fun. But cmon a little smile and how are you doing go a long way. I work in healthcare so trust me I know.

Parking also can suck. If you come midday or later you have to valet or park...

I was introduced to this place by my partner which I initially did enjoy at the beginning a few months back but lately, their service has just gone downhill. We went back today, Saturday, Nov. 30th, to just give it another chance and unfortunately, we were once again thoroughly disappointed with the service. We both had ordered a brown sugar shaken espresso with OAT milk and to our dismay, the barista made it with whole milk. When i told her that we did not want it with whole milk after she had already made them, she just rudely stated ā€œoh, it stated regular milkā€ (her coworker was the one who messed up the order since she was the one who took the order). Then she just proceeded with ā€œdo y’all want me to remake the order?ā€ which i said yes but my partner did not want for them to go through the hassle of making another one for her (mind you, they never apologized or anything, just proceeded with attitude). So when my coffee was finally made correctly, my partner just wanted for the barista to top her coffee with oat milk & all she literally did was a splash, if that (smh). Therefore, there are other places in the area with much better service & better coffee. Hopefully this place will change to how they used...
