Bobcat Teddy's Icehouse — Restaurant in Houston

After being roofied here on New Year’s I finally came back last night with some friends since this place is walking distance from our place. Went up to get a second beer from the bar and the bartender turned away to open up the beer and then called 2 other staff over and they all huddled around the opened can of beer for some reason then he turned around and tried to hand me the beer. I asked if he could please open another beer where I could see it and then told him what happened to me New Year’s and that i didn’t mean it as an offense to him but I was just being cautious. Instead of showing any understanding he got really defensive and immediately threw me out of the bar. We used to love coming here and walked up a couple of times a week but there is definitely something weird going on at this place lately and we won’t be coming back until there are some...

It's a good bar. Mostly really nice bartenders, one lady back there was lacking people skills. She was dealing with some customers & myself (not all) like it was a real tedious chore. Maybe she thinks she needs to know you before they don't act indifferent. Just saying, my gratitude would have been greater if I was dealt with differently.

Now some of the awesome things about this place. They pay tribute to the icehouse that preceded them, Jimmie's Place (a.k.a. Jimmy's Icehouse. I feel that was very respectful. They have a great patio. It's a pretty good place for people watching. Their prices are middle of the road, not too bad. Finally, it's a good place to ride your bike to. There is a bunch of shops, bars & whatnot in the immediate area. You could have a real "Tour de Lush" if you...

Food: The food truck outside when it open bc they often close early.

Service: Some bartenders over charge you if they don’t recognize you as a regular (paid $46 dollars for two Tito’s vodka and red bull on the rocks and wasn’t even given the 2 cans of red-bull the bartender used! He instead drank the left over in front of us while laughing with his drinking friends - caucasian male bodybuilder type gym rat.
