The Brown Bag Deli is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. After years of enjoying their wonderful sandwiches on Westheimer and Shepherd, I can now enjoy them while at work in The Heights. BBD offers amazingly fresh food with plenty of veggie options, a clean atmosphere and friendly service. Their wheat bread is amazing and you can choose from sandwiches on the menu or you can completely craft your own choosing all ingredients.

I am afraid to post a review, people will see it and it will become really crowded. The price are higher than Subway but the sandwiches are better. They could get rid of the framed posters of the food, (too corporate looking), and frame photos of the Houston area, taken by local photographers. Oh and sourdough would make a great addition to menu.

I ordered onlone and after I put my sandwich back together, It was decent. I'm not sure how the sandwich was placed into the bag but as I pulled it out the whole sandwich and it's contents fell all over my passenger seat. Not sure the meal was worth almost twenty dollars but maybe that my frugal lifestyle.

Update: still my favorite. I hadn't been in a month or so, but when I checked out the sweet woman at the register asked if I wanted gluten free "because that's what I normally get", I was shocked. I was having a tough day that put a smile on my face. Good people. Good food.

My favorite little sandwich shop. Doesn't look like anything fancy but the ladies behind the counter are always sweet, and the BLT on gluten free bread (or not) is top tier. I come here...
