I haven’t been this impressed by an all around experience in a long time. First off Chris, our server, made our experience. He must have sensed we were newbies because he didn’t rush us and was patient and attentive. He asked if we wanted drinks first and listed all the different flavors of frozen margarita's, which should be common but I’m used to having to ask that when he automatically said they had different flavors and began listing them off. Then we decided on the boudin balls, they were not greasy or heavy. Perfectly friend and the breading was not THICK, and omg the texture inside was melt in your mouth. I didn’t read what the sauce was my friend said tartar which it could have been it was creamy with maybe some kind of mustard seed in it but kind of gave me horseradish vibes, whatever it was it was perfectly paired with the boudin. Next we received the okra, again the breading was perfection. Not too thick and had great flavor and you could taste the freshness of the okra even the splash of crunch from the remaining liquid inside. We shared a boiled and bagged shrimp with sausage link, potatoes in the mild/ medium garlic butter sauce mixed with Thai basil and a side of lemon pepper sauce. O M G! The shrimp! Wow just so thick and juicy like a shrimp should be, you would not be mad if someone referred to you as this kind of shrimp! She was not a one bite kind of shrimp. So juicy and thick and the sauce, dunk it in the sauce! It was perfection! If you’re not a seafood eater this shrimp would change your mind! Next we had the Cajun friend rice and added crawfish for $4. Do it, don’t question it! Best fried rice I’ve had. They have sausage in it but offered without, if you like sausage then I suggest you keep it, I’m not a big onion fan but they are cooked and fresh and the fresh ones are so fresh you taste the crispness of them. Overall one of the best food, service and atmosphere experiences I’ve had in a while. We walked in and it was packed. No one is in their best because we know we’re getting dirty and everyone is close but not too close. Close enough if you want to talk to your neighbors you can. We did because they asked about the boudin and we of course said they should. Thank you Chris and Crawfish Cafe for an amazing experience, going back soon for that thick crab we saw and...
Read moreSo this is the second time I ordered from here. First time I asked to be deliver, but this Saturday I decided to pick it up myself. The in-time manager Josh (he said that was his name) was so unprofessional. First, I wait there nobody behind me just me for him to ask me " what do you need?". Actually have to asked "Hi I am here for an order". He did not blink or look at me, it was actually one of the waiters who attend me and gave me my order. Who actually was very professional and costumer service oriented. Few minutes later, I came back to ask if the order was correct, because the package look smaller than I though. The waiter was ready to answer when the manager Josh ,I believe he though I was from Ubbereats or Doordash, because while I was asking he did not want to here it form me or she to answer. He said " you need to leave now and I will refund the money". We went back and forth but every time I try to explain that I was the one who paid for the order. He just did not have it just rude and unprofessional. If I did that as a manager at my job I will be fire in a minute. So, as soon as, get on the phone and letting my family that issue that I have , he realize that I was the one who paid for the order. Then his unprofessional matter change. Really? this is not an acceptable behavior of a manager. Before I left as I give him and advice from manager to manager , after I apologized if he misunderstood that I was the one who paid and not a delivery service person. This is the worst experience that I have, and believe me I understand service is crazy lately but not for him to treat me that way. I feel bad for the delivery people that must go to this unprofessional person. FYI: To the owner feel free to contact me. Also, provide a better manager training for this...
Read moreDown in Houston for couple of days, we were looking for some Cajun style crawfish ...I Did some search online and Crawfish Cafe just topped our list. When we arrived the place was bustling with customers and tables were occupied inside and outside the seating area. Arriving in the afternoon, parking was a bit challenging to find by the front of the restaurant. However, they have their own parking in the back. There is a Burger King next to it, so be careful not to park in the spots in between the two restaurants, Burger King might just give you some issues. Just park in the back of the restaurant... We were seated, and the waiter was so friendly and so prompt in tending to us. Although, the place was so busy we received fast and prompt service. We ordered crawfish and headless shrimp out of a many different items to choose from. You just indicate how many pounds you would like. With their signature Garlic Butter and kicking Cajun. You then indicate how spicy you wanted it to be. In addition we ordered Cajun calamari, corn and fried sweet potatoes from the extras section. The food was out in less than 10 minutes... You get a bib, gloves and a bowl.. The crawfish and the shrimp were just juicy soft and seasoned to perfection. The sauce was just amazing... The calamari was just fried wright... This was one of the best cajun crawfish restaurant if not the best that I have tried and I have tried few of them in different states... This one by far stands out. We were very pleased with the whole experience and this place will be our go to when...
