There is no shortage in the greater Houston area of places to eat and drink. When I’m looking for a place to drink, I usually go for those that not only offer a good selection of beer, but also that have something unique to offer, since there are so many places from which to choose. One establishment that I have visited over and over and still come back to is Kirby Ice House Memorial.
This is one of a few different Kirby Ice House locations and with its west Houston location, it is also the one that is closest to my house. It’s a large place with both indoor and outdoor sections. There is a substantial selection of beer on tap and a full bar to mix and create any drink of your choosing. There is ample free parking, right across the street in the large parking lot. You can bring your dog, too. But please note that no one under 21 is admitted. I learned about the latter rule the hard way one day when I brought my teenagers along, only to learn that they could not be admitted any time of day.
I stated above that, with so many options for food and drink in Houston, an establishment needs something to set it apart. Kirby Ice House Memorial has several things that make it stand out, and the most noticeable is the bar. They have the longest bar in Texas and it’s lined from end to end with bar seating. This is reason enough to pay a visit, just to see the lengthy bar. Another thing I love is the varied seating options. There are picnic tables outside, high top tables inside, and low tables to go with the abundance of bar stools. And the bar stools are comfortable, too, with backs to provide full seating support.
Kirby Ice House Memorial doesn’t serve food of its own, but it is normal to find food trucks on site. If you don’t want to take any chances with food, my advice is to show up already full of food and ready for refreshment. Oh, and if you have a larger group of people and want to make sure there is a place for you all to sit on the inside, you can contact ahead of time and reserve a table, if you like.
It’s cool when you can find a bar that goes above and beyond. Kirby Ice House memorial is that bar. It’s big, it’s roomy, there is plenty of parking, and they have the ability to make just about any drink you can imagine. It can get loud inside, so it’s not a good choice if you want a quiet evening with deep one- on- one conversation with your significant other. But if you want a place with lots of drink and beer selections, sports viewing, and outdoors, Kirby Ice House Memorial is the...
Read moreI witnessed a young lady whom sitting at the bar getting humiliated by the manager and a bartender whom was the only one wearing prescription glasses last night with a bull face look the whole time. This bartender was very unfriendly to everyone as I noticed it and was constantly picking on this one young lady sitting with two other ladies at the bar.
I witnessed the young lady getting escorted out and treated very and respectfully by a very short Hispanic make and an African male The bartender with the prescribed glass it was just upset and looked angry at the whole world the young lady was only asking what kind of drink she was drinking because to her it tasted funny as I asked her and she asked what it was but no they thought she was intoxicated which she was not they owe this young lady an apology and get ready for a lawsuit because this was terrible.. They treated her very terrible and humiliating her in front of over 300 or more customers.
What kind of people do you have working there you don’t treat people this way there’s already a lot of hate in this world we don’t need more in the industries to add onto it!!!
Review your cameras and look at there actions of your...
Read morePATRON BEWARE. Very odd security detail(s). Literally had one guy pacing back and forth inside the bar looking for trouble the whole night, how cringeworthy. My friend was dragged out by three security personel for no reason at all. No verbal warning given no proper protocols taken, just sneakily grabbed by the throat very violently and it was ambush style while walking out the front door. These are not men, they are boys looking to hurt randomly targeted and vulnerable customers. Came from behind while walking out the front door whilst trying to escourt 2 newly made friend's to their car to go home. No good deed goes unpunished? I dont think so. Called the manager "Andy" and he refused to be of any help and instead told us we are not welcome back. Police report has been made and legal action will be taken due to person injuries suffered here by having food and drinks at Kirby's Ice House Memorial. Please be careful as a customer here because your well- being and health is not a priority but actually in jeopardy, this is not how you honor your customer's choosing your establishment to spend your hard earned money at. How deplorable and extremely...
