So me and my girlfriend wanted to try something different for brunch so we decided to stop by Cielito for some brunch. That my girlfriend saw on tik tok and people were talking good things about it. We arrive there and we saw a lot of people outside waiting and we told ourselves it has to be good if there is this many people here. So I park and got off to see how long was the wait and I soon I walk in I saw that the place was really small and that’s why there was a lot of people waiting because there is not enough sitting. So I continued to walk to the front and ask how long the wait was and I was told it was between 25min to 30min so I was like that’s perfect and she ask for my name and wrote it down. I walk back out and headed to my vehicle and get in and told my girlfriend that the wait was about 30min but I also told her that the place was small but the food look really presentable and good while I was walking out. So we decide to wait and it was a pretty hot day. So I see 30min pass and my name is not called. So I go back in and ask if we are next to be sitting. And they told me to wait another 30min so I’m like okay tanks. Another 30min pass and I go and ask if our table is ready and they tell me another 15mins more. So 1hr and 15min before we are able to sit. Well that’s not the best part. So me and my girlfriend are now sitting at are table and the waitress comes and ask us if we are ready to order and I tell her can we start off with some waters because we been outside in the heat for a while and she’s like okay. The waitress goes and gets our waters. While she does that me and my girlfriend take look at the menu and we decided what we wanted. Well the waitress comes back with our waters. And take’s our order. I myself order chilaquiles verdes and an Ice coffee. My girlfriend order chilaquiles verdes a green juice and a arroz con leche. Waitress got our order and goes to the computer and puts it in. Noted we are sitting in a corner and we can see the kitchen and where the waitress’s put in the orders. Few minutes pass and the waitress comes with two ice coffees and my girlfriend politely says she didn’t order an ice coffee. The waitress gives me my drink but didn’t say anything or apologize for bringing the wrong drink out. Waitress goes to the back thinking she’s gonna bring the correct drink out but instead the waitress goes to the computer and gets on her phone. Noted we can see everything. Also our waters are never refilled. So another few mins pass and the green juice drink never comes out. First waitress is still on her phone while a second waitress comes out with our food but one of the orders is wrong. We ask for two Green chilaquiles and we got one red chilaquiles and one green chilaquiles. So at this point I’m like wow. My girlfriend is really upset first her drink was wrong and then her food order was wrong. So I told the second waitress that the food order was wrong but I told her not to worry about it that I will just trade plates with my girlfriend. And we told the second waitress if we can please get the green juice because the first waitress never came back. So we see the second waitress go and get us the green juice drops it off at our table. Second waitress goes where the first waitress is at taps on her shoulder and tells her something. This whole time she was on her phone. Never comes back and checks on her customers. After we are done eating we waited for her tres leches that also never came out. Waters was never refill. Never came out to see how’s everything going. Me and my girlfriend got up went to the front to pay. I was charged for everything we order but I told the front clerk that the tres leches was never brought out so she took it off my bill. We continue and I pay and left no TIP due to the fact that the only thing she did was bring out the waters and put in wrong orders. We also ask to talk to the manager super nice guy and friendly but I had to tell him our experience. And this whole time me and my girlfriend kept our cool didn’t make a scene kept...
Read moreI absolutely loved this restaurant. It was quite the experience. I went in cautiously optimistic and it exceeded my expectations! I parked half a block away and as I walked up to the restaurant which looks like an unassuming house, I was hit by the aroma of potent Mexican ingredients. As I opened the door, I was greeted by a very friendly waitstaff who welcomed me into the cozy and pleasant dining area. I sat at a table in the corner near a window, where I could take in the whole experience. I was instantly transported to my days as a child sitting in my grandmother's cocina (kitchen), watching her cook and make tortillas. I knew this was going to be good. I wanted to try several things, so I ordered a variety of plates and thoroughly enjoyed watching the waiters eyes get wider every time I ordered another dish. Never one to disappoint in the shock department, I continued to order with the intention of eating everything. I started off with a water and a coffee. I drank the coffee black and let me tell you, that coffee was strong enough to knock my socks off, just the way I like it. I ordered an agua fresca with the melon and pepino flavors combined. This was so refreshing, I felt like going for a run after drinking it. I then ordered an appetizer of chicharrones. Hands down the best chicharrones I have had in Houston. They came out fresh and hot, still crackling and popping like rice crispies but oh so much more delicious! The seasoning was just right, and the combination of being a bit oily with a super crunch was perfect. Next I ordered a plate of chilaquiles. I ordered the verde (green) and rojo (red) mixed. I would have to say that although I liked both, the verde was the star of the show! The spiciness and heat of the sauce was flawlessly combined with the crispy yet tender chips. How do they do that? Combined with an over easy egg, crema and queso fresco and I was on cloud nine! I then dug into the Bandera. A three egg omelette with chorizo inside. The chorizo was cooked to perfection, not over or undercooked but magnificently cooked with the papas on the side. I felt like I was at home enjoying a homemade breakfast. Lastly, I sampled the cajeta toast. I don't even really ever order French toast but the mention of caramelized goat's milk and bacon piqued my curiosity. I was not disappointed. What an amazing combination. Definitely glad I ordered that. After the explosion of flavor I had just experienced, the vibe of feeling at home and the super friendly waitstaff. I had to give Cielito Café five stars! I'll be back, so get those plates ready because I'm going to order even...

The wait was not more than 20min but after eating here? I would wait.. all worth the wait!!
The casita inside has lots of sitting area but they make it work, you don't feel overwhelmed! They serve tables so smoothly! You don't see anyone bumping into anyone, not even when you are being seated at your table!
The food looked amazing! We kept looking over everyone's tables lol because every plate looked amazing!! We couldn't make up our minds but finally decided for the red chilaquiles with chorizo, menudo, rolled chicken tacos, chicken sopes and caramel French toast!! Oh and drinks, couldn't pass on the hot coconut coffee with coconut shaving which was slightly burnt and smoky yummm, the Carmel ice drink which came with a caramel Mexican lollipop and if you tried the lollipop in Mexico? Ice drink taste exactly the same!!! and fresh orange juice just perfect!
The red chilaquiles with the chorizo and sunny side up eggs were savory, just enough spice to enjoy every bite! The smokiness in the red sauce was amazing! Mexico in every bite!
The menudo had some spice but was perfectly seasoned and savory, the pork was soft and well cooked! Not greasy and not that pork smell you get at other places. It was accompanied by corn tortillas which looked and tasted handmade! Not sure if they were but they were just a great addition!!
The sopes with the chicken breast shredded over each sope, crunchy purple and white cole slaw and the black beans!! With a splash of sour cream and queso fresco had me in every bite! I enjoyed the entire dish!!! The red salsa was spicy and green salsa was just perfect to add to your sopes!!
The chicken rolled tacos were crunchy but not hard to bite which is great for our gums lol. The rolled tacos sit on a bed of green salsa and had some spice but the savory chicken inside was just perfect
We also ordered the caramel French toast to share! The bacon bits over the French toast were savory and sweet! The French toast was soft and fluffy and had the right amount of cinnamon! We all loved every bite!!
