Cafe Express River Oaks — Restaurant in Houston

I ordered catering delivery from this location for a corporate event at my office. On the day of the event, my order was one hour late. I received a phone call from the manager telling me that there was no DoorDash driver available to deliver my order and that Cafe Express was going to have to send one of their own delivery drivers and that the delivery fee to pay his delivery driver was $17. He told me this was a problem because I paid DoorDash for delivery but now Cafe Express won't get paid by me for the delivery. I told him he needs to work that out with DoorDash because I'm not going to pay two delivery fees. Especially for a late order. This is not the customer's problem and I can't believe as a manager, he was trying to make it my problem, and insinuating I pay them for this. His priority should be making sure my order gets delivered as soon as possible. Then, HE can figure out how his delivery driver gets paid. Not my problem. He also told me for future orders, I should call the restaurant directly to place my delivery order to avoid this from happening again. Why is ordering online an option on the website if it's not meant to be used? I definitely won't be ordering any future...

Update: Just as soon as I got on here and complimented them, its going downhill again. The new turkey burger has been sloppily thrown together twice. I just threw it away the last time because I couldn't stomach it. The salmon has been really dry twice. I'm about to try the chicken pita but also ordered a side of brocolli. I haven't even eaten yet and couldn't wait to get on here to say that I just paid $4.29 for 4 pieces of brocolli. Lol ridiculous (pic attached).

Original: I used to love this restaurant. My last few visits have been very mediocre and I've officially learned my lesson. I ordered a pasta and added shrimp for an additional fee. Not only were there only 3 single shrimp, the pasts was only half sauced. Even stirred, was overwhelmed with plain pasta. Could've been great. The salad was underwhelming. A Greek salad with only cheese, tomatoes, and pecans? Otherwise, the service was ok and they still have delicious black...

Came in to this location for the first time today, the service was excellent! Gisselle took our order at the front and explained all the options with a great attitude. Then Jorge and Avia were working the food window and brought us our food with a smile and outstanding service. They checked multiple times to see if we had everything we needed, brought us things we needed, boxed our food, took away our dishes, and just cared to make a personal connection. They are wonderful at their jobs and I love to see them going above and beyond! Food was cooked well. Salmon was seasoned great, but the veggies were under seasoned. Not enough romesco sauce for the chicken but they brought us more when we asked. The atmosphere in here is lovely and it’s very clean and well kept but it was extremely hot in the dining room. It was not pleasant to eat at that temperature especially when it’s so hot outside. But overall a great...
