My experience at Connie’s las night was horrible, not the food the service, first the service that greeted us and took the drink order gave it to another person, the other server that brought the drinks was not the first two servers we had already talked to, it took for me to get up and ask if anyone will take our order and they did with an attitude, once the order was placed my wife got a ceviche that she enjoyed very much and my sister in law got a tostada de ceviche and a caldo de pescado witch she enjoyed very much as well I got a dinner pechuga plate witch for me was very good, I. The process of eating out dinner we never got a check up from any of the 3 servers or a manager to see if we were doing ok, luckily we didn’t really need anything, but coming paying time since no one was checking on us it took me 10 minutes to get up again and ask to pay a short bold man directed me to the register where I told them about my service experience and that it was horrible and all the girls looked at me and my family with the most ugliest face, honestly I will never go back to this Connie’s ever it was my favorite place growing up and I drove from McAllen tx and chose that to be my dinner spot and it was the worst service experience I had in a long time not the food the service! For the service I give it one star not for the food to me the food...

I just had to come on and talk about our waitress today. Her name was Xenia and she was amazing! I was telling my husband how it’s been forever since I’ve actually gone out to eat anywhere (not just here) and actually enjoyed it. The service has really gone downhill everywhere over the years. I swear I live complaining to my husband about how bad the service is and how it ruins me whole experience. Well today was completely different, the waitress made my whole day. It felt so nice actually having good service after so long without it. I’m sorry but most ppl now days are lazy and expect a good tip for just throwing food on your table, forgetting to bring drinks and silverware, etc…. This waitress brought water and silverware as soon as we sat, brought our food and actually checked up on us throughout the time there, and when we did ask for anything, we actually received it and within minutes not hours. I just can’t go on enough about how good she was and how refreshing it was to actually have a good waitress. I almost forgot what that was like. I just wanted to leave a review because I felt she at least deserves the recognition for her good service...

Ordered the grilled fish and shrimp with fries and fried rice. the fish and shrimp were not grilled, but seared on a stovetop. neither were seasoned. DO NOT EXPECT SEASONING ON YOUR FOOD. I am genuinely 1000% confident that i can cook better than the professionals in the kitchen. My girlfriend’s shrimp tasted burnt. fried rice was bland and the fries were regular fries. (also on a side note, why are the only side options fried rice, french fries, and a ā€œsaladā€ that is literally a bowl of lettuce with a slice of tomato on top???) spent almost $50 and ended up driving to a homeless encampment nearby to give the food to a homeless man. i didn’t stay to confirm, but i wouldn’t be surprised if he got rid of it too. the best part about this restaurant and the reason for the high rating is more than likely their drinks. margaritas were amazing and we went during happy hour so the margaritas came out to less than $3 each. my best advice is if you plan on eating here order 10 margaritas first so that way you’re so drunk, the food is actually good. on second thought, you’d be better off just getting drinks from here then stopping at mcdonald’s on...

I've been coming here for 5 years. Its amazing šŸ‘ how they get complacent. When I walked in, the silly waitresses (5) in total where just looking at us like we where stupid, they just stared at us and didn't say anything. There's a sign that Cleary says " Wait to be Seated " one of them says šŸ¤” have a seat wherever you like. This restaurant is a perfect example on complacency. They got so complacent that the quality of the food has went down. I won't come back here. Everything sucks. The only thing that still taste ok is the breaded catfish 🐟 is awesome .it's worth taking to go but nit dine in. Too many other places to go eat and enjoy than throw your money away and waste time.

This Connie's Restaurant on Airline Drive is their original restaurant. I have eaten at other Connie's Restaurants in the Houston area but this is my favorite. They seem to do a better job with the french fries, fried shrimp and fried fish fillets. The dining room is clean and well lighted with booth and table seating. They also have a separate, glass partitioned room that's good for groups. For $9.99, I am served 2 large fried tilapia fillets, 5 or 6 good sized fried šŸ¤, a large serving of shrimp fried rice or French fries and a dinner roll. The food is excellent and served piping hot. I recommend the juke box volume be turned down. I like the Hispanic music, but it's too loud.

If you come here, the food is always excellent and fresh! I recommend Xenia as your server she is wonderful! BUT ASK FOR A DIFFERENT SERVER IF ITS JENNIFER A. She brought out drinks that we never asked for and when we sent it back she still charged us for it! When we asked for a manager she told the manager we had ordered that drink and sent it back but both of them would not comp the drinks we never ordered or drank. We’ve been coming here for 15+ years with no issues until today. Again if you come here ask for Xenia or literally any other server to take care of you unless you would like to be overcharged and taken advantage of!
