This is the Denny's on the i-45 feeder road just south of FM 525 or you may refer to it as Aldine Bender road. Much go order was the county club don't toast bread with regular french fries and a couple of pancakes for dessert because you can't hardly get desserts at a lot of the Denny's anymore I like the apple crisp and the ice cream but most of the locations no longer . Although it's on the menu. My other regular complaint about Denny's is that for as long as I can remember you could go to Denny's anytime night or day and get a bowl of chicken noodle soup and Texas toast. It was inexpensive, filling, and tended to have a sobering effect on people who needed it. Now they stop serving soup at 10:00 p.m.. The waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made sure that everything was right on my order before she sent me out with it. A lot of people don't tip on to go orders but I do because I know then the next time they'll check my order again and make sure it's right Plus they're still only making $2 and something an hour and they live on tips. The manager recognized me and mentioned that he hadn't seen me in quite a while and I told him my son has been coming up and picking up my quarters for a while and we set and chit-chatted he was friendly and approachable we talked about soup and dessert different restaurants around town what they offered or lacked. I hate waiting, no matter where I'm at or what I'm waiting for. Fortunately having someone interesting to visit with makes the time go by faster. The wait was not too long, the conversation was intelligent and informative. The store was clean and everyone in there seems to be getting a good service good food that's what you ask of a restaurant. This particular Denny's has made a good comeback from a few years ago when it had for management and went way downhill. This Denny's is the closest one to my house, although there is now one on beltway 8 eastbound just passed the toll road in the truck stop that has been there three or four years now and also the Richey road truck stop which formerly had an independent restaurant has become a Denny's. I alternate going to all three of them. However back to last night although I couldn't get a dessert I got pancakes instead the pancakes were good the sandwich was good even though the bread wasn't toasted it didn't fall apart the avocados were fresh. Of course prices have gone up everywhere on everything and Denny's has had to raise prices also. Keep in perspective Denise is a regular restaurant for regular folks to go have an affordable meal you can't rate it up against some five Star steakhouse you have to write it on its own merits I like Denny's I will go there again it was a good experience, good food. 🥑 I will continue to patronize this place. God bless you, Have a great day, good food, good music, or whatever makes you happy, and wherever you go don't forget to tell them that the "Old...
Read more12/7/23 Update: I've come to expect a lower level of customer service at this location, but it's getting worse. They REALLY need training in customer service. When we got there they had a lot of empty tables, but no one to seat us. I finally asked the lady at the register if we just go sit down and she said no. We waited quite a while, but no one ever said anything to us. They just kept walking past us to help other people. They looked at us, but never said a word. I finally asked the girl at the register if they were going to just keep ignoring us. Without a word, she walked away to get someone to help us. At this point they were friendly, and we were served okay. She apologized, but once we were served, she left us alone. Never came too see if we needed anything. When we were ready to leave, she and another employee were sitting on top of the counters taking to each other. Sadly, this was not a one time occurrence. This was the first time we had difficulty getting seated, but they seem to do as little as possible and are always visiting together when you need something. I don't know if it's because they don't expect to get a tip? I doubt they get much with that level of service. I still tip 20%, but they usually don't deserve it. I wanted to take a survey, so I could privately let Denny's know they need to do better training, but she never even gave me the check. I had to go to the register and say, I don't have a receipt, but would like to pay. If course, there was no survey on the final receipt I got. They are polite when they speak to you, but they need to do better. Still good food, but serious lack of training!
The service was great and the food...
