Doña Chela — Restaurant in Houston

I don’t usually leave a bad review for any restaurant regardless of service but I feel like I need to warn people about this one. Their food is ok but service really sucks. We waited for almost 2 hours for our food to come. We didn’t get a refill until we asked and got charged for the refill which I thought after almost 2 hours of waiting for our food should have been a free refill. It was 5 adults and 2 children 1 under 3 and the other less than a month old. We got charged a gratuity on each of the individual checks even though technically it was only 5 adults eating. When I went to pay the lady pushed the tip she wanted on the keypad 18% for only my and my daughter’s meal. I paid because I was embarrassed to say anything. To me this was a total injustice. I usually give nothing less than $10 on tip but the lady then proceeded to try to charge everyone in my party an 18% tip!!! For what!! Like I said almost 2 hours to get our food!!! I’ve been coming here for years. I received the worst customer service in my life and believe it or not but from the male owner. I complained to him about the menudo not having flavor. His words were we’ve served this flavor for years and no one has ever complained. He continued to state we have 3 locations and this is the best food. I told him serve yourself and taste it for yourself. I told him we’ve come to you guys for years and never had this problem. He continued to say we serve the best food and have no complaints. He also refused to taste his own food. I told him as a Buisness owner you have no idea how it works. If someone doesn’t like the food they just don’t come back. We are actually helping you. I told him give me my bill and I paid. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM AN UNEDUCATED...

Authentic Mexican food. I visited the Doña Chela #2 location. This location is alright. I would recommend the #2 location on 76th st (10 min drive)

Pros: Food tastes delicious, no doubt. I got quesadillas and would recommend. Music is not too loud. Waitress are Polite and provides great service (despite the busy times).

Cons: Parking lot is kinda small. Prices are affordable. Environment felt 5/10. (Had a bug around). The table felt sticky. Would appreciated if they cleaned the tables a bit better.

Food is Delicious. But the environment is alright. I personally like Doña Chela...
