According to your "Order Tracker", my order was checked for "perfection" at 5:19PM, but not out for delivery until 5:40PM. Does that mean that it sat in the store for twenty minutes after it was ready? Did my pizza languish in a purgatorial state for twenty minutes? I don't need to know that. I don't want to know that. I imagine this happens every where, but seriously it's not something that you want to advertise via the order tracker. I do not blame the driver or any hapless human being working in the store, but really the only thing I want to know it when to expect the pizza to be at my door. I ordered from Domino's today because there's no way in hell that I'd order from Papa John's and Pizza Hut has been quite slow recently (HA! time is relative and trust me they've not been this slow). I want to like you guys, I really do, but you have to meet me half way. After my pizza was ready at 5:19 and finally left the store at 5:40, it did not arrive until more than an hour after its perfection was checked. Look, I get the self deprecating commercials and the talk about you guys struggling to improve your craptastic record of poor service, but it's not really working out. You get points for owning up to the problem, but not enough points to make up for the problem not being fixed. Might I suggest that instead of paving streets, you pay your employees more so as to incentivize competency and improve performance that way. I'm just at a loss for any real constructive criticism here as I've had so much time on my hands to write this review that I'm awestruck by your struggle to get a very simply pizza to me inside of a two hour window. If it is going to take ridiculous amount of time to deliver a pie then say so, but your system is set up to push the customer to fret over how long their order has sat under a heat lamp or on the back seat of the driver's Mazda. It's not good business and not good for your employees who depend on your leadership and management models for their jobs. There's a moral component at work here and you're falling short on your end of the deal. For more than a half hour, my pizza was cruising around the greater Spring Branch area and I have no idea why this is where you are in terms of delivery services after making a conscientious effort to improve. I'm not angry--just confused as to what your guiding ethos is and why this is the business model that you've adopted. Are you using a model developed by the Pony Express prior to the implementation of the telegraph. The only scenario that would leave me sheepishly silent would be one that involves a delivery person on a bicycle with the boxes balanced on his head arriving at my doorstep. Your processes set your employees up for abuse and I'm grateful that you allow for the tip to be processed with the original order lest they suffer the consequences of a system designed to penalize them. My take away from this traumatic experience has been to question my optimism for ordering from Domino's. Hell, my dogs even gave up on sitting by the door for you and they know whenever I've ordered food (it's spooky). My pizza was checked for perfection more than an hour before it arrived at my house. My expectations are very low at this point with regard to any promise of "perfection" or even its mere adequacy. This transaction should not have resulted in me having a crisis of faith in our capitalist system, but I am wondering what has gone so horribly wrong in our consumer culture that would lead a business to provide the details of the process in which a product was created and then fall so horribly short in its delivery. I grieve for your employees whose livelihoods depend on your corporate model. I am sad for you and, yet hungry for a pizza, that I seriously doubted would ever arrive. Shame on...
Read moreThey give you a bunch of options....and really they give you so many that it's enough rope to hang yourself with.
If you know what you're doing you can order an AWESOME pizza from them. And it will be fantastic. Sometimes they have coupons that make this a viable option. Most of the time it's a bit of a struggle.
They got rid of their good Brooklyn Style crust, for whatever reason, and replaced it with the notably worse New York Style crust. I don't know why, but it's a big disappointment, and really frustrating. But that's not this specific store's fault. But it is indicative of the sort of weird frustrating mix of good and bad that you get from Domino's as a whole.
There are like a thousand ways to order a bad pizza if you choose the wrong stuff at Domino's. And there's a narrow range of like maybe 15 ways to order an awesome pizza at Domino's. Obviously People want options and control of the options, but it's crazy how easy it is for it to go wrong, and to rely on people to figure it out.
And the options that they offer as preset specialty pizzas aren't particularly great. They're just okay.
And even once you do figure out exactly what you want to order, and you know that it should be great, then you have to roll the dice and hope that Domino's actually makes it correctly.
And Domino's making it correctly is FAR from reliable. Last year this store screwed up an AMAZING number of my pizzas (but they kept giving me free pizzas as an apology, I can't be too mad about it 🤷🏻♂️)
Currently, this particular store seems to be on a pretty solid streak of nailing it, and mostly getting it right. They don't always cook the pizza enough (especially considering that I ALWAYS request it Well Done), but they HAVE been getting all the toppings right. And they usually get it done pretty quick.
I'd say they have probably about a 95% success rate for the last 8 months. That's pretty good.
(I don't know what the hell was going on last year. They just kept dumping like half a jar of olives on every pizza, when I requested ZERO olives. It was bizarre. I guess they fired Olive Guy.)
ProTip: The Pan Pizza crust is leaps and bounds superior to every other crust. It's a whole different ball game.
The Brooklyn Style crust used to be the second best, but for some reason they got rid of it. Now I guess it's a toss-up between Hand-Tossed and Thin Crust for second best.
For some reason, the New York Style crust that they replaced the Brooklyn Style crust with kind of sucks.
Also, it's weirdly hard to find any sort of remotely decent deal on ordering a medium pizza. Almost all of their good deals are, for some reason, focused on large pizzas. Like why is there a large specialty pizza coupon, but not a medium specialty pizza coupon? That's really annoying and frustrating. But again, that's not this store's fault. That's just a general Domino's thing, for some...
Read moreHello, Firstl, I have always loved Domino's. Love their food and customer service. I ordered food this morning from them at 12 am. I had no other food to eat at the house. Everything that I had ordered with them and ate, made me have the worst case of diarrhea. I took anti-dieahrea as well as pepto bismo. At first, I thought it was just me, but sadly everytime I ate their food I was rushing to the restroom. I called them and told them my situation. They told they are very busy and a manager will call me back. I said okay, no problem, 45 mins later, no call. I'm still in the restroom. At this point I'm mad, I call back, the associate still says wait for the manager to call back. It is 11 pm and I am still waiting for a call. In addition, they had the audacity to tell my wife that she basically has to prove that I have food poisioning. Never, have I been treated like this. I will be contacting the corporate and wanting my refund. This is unacceptable and very rude. Someone's health is not a joke and should never be played with. I wish for every one of them to get terminated or suspended. This will happen to others. I had to call them again at 11:40 pm because the "manager" did not return my call. The other "manager says "oh she did not call you." I had to call them again at 11:40 pm because the "manager" did not return my call. I have phone records, this has been going on since 7pm. I told the "manager" I am coming to get my money. I ubered there. And the "male manager" called the "female manager" and she is refusing to my money. They are located on gesssner. I have records. I am most positive there are cameras as well to prove all of this. Can't believe people like this are allowed to work there. It is May.21, and at 8 pm, I finally got my money. Apparently, Luis the "manager" lied that their was a female GM. And I still had to Uber there. Please, fire this ghetto person. He obviously needs to go through drug testing and criminal background check....
