We took our 1.5yr old baby boy here to join the kids playtime activity. They provide about 8 boxes of various toys, and play the nursery rhymes which kids can sing aloud together. Also, the librarians here are so kind and supportive to introduce the environment and share the books information. We will definitely plan to bring our boy here again for the playtime and checking out some toddler reading books.

Wonderful Staff. HelI began taking my kids to this library from the time my first was in kindergarten. Then I began bringing my other two from the time there were babies in strollers. I love this library. The arts and crafts day is incredibly enjoyable. Before COVID, Hillendahl used to be full of kids and parents. I went on Wednesday and it was practically empty. I was surprised. The staff told me there are less people going to this library. They don't know why. I don't either. The staff are wonderful, welcoming and incredibly patient and helpful with the kids and adults. They told me the library on Bingle/ Gessner is full. I don't know why. I went to that library and yes there are more kids and parents but the staff is HORRIBLE. They are openly rude and demeaning. They were rude to a little boy and I over heard a librarian tell the other that they were having to deal with the "trash" from Hillendahl. I was appalled. Their rudeness hidden in blatant bigotry and racism is palpable. Dirty and Disgusting!!!!! The staff in Hillendahl is very patient, helpful and active with all the kids and parents. Doesn't matter...

This is a small branch that I stumbled across on the way home a different way, so I scoped it out. Very clean, well lit, and surprisingly busy for midday with lots of adult traffic. I think I saw every race represented in the hour and a half that I was there, making it a true reflection on the community. On a lark, I looked for books by my favorite author, and they had some good ones. Self-checked my books, but stuck around a moment to discuss Mexican food with the librarians.

With the amount of people, it was a bit loud for me. A lot of the chat was in Español, and it was distracting. It was ok for me to do light reading, but if I had needed to do extensive research of technical material, I would have had trouble. The people seemed to all know each other, so I think they were regulars who forgot where they...

I visited this library again today after a good 15+ years (I used to bring my daughters here when they were little). I came in with my son today and got his first library card. I had a great experience. Everyone was courteous and friendly. To my surprise I noticed a lot of things had changed over the years. I had trouble trying to figure out how to find books on the library’s database and was getting overwhelmed ( I didn’t know where to start!) after struggling for a while, I finally decided to go to the front desk and asked for help A very nice lady by the name of Alma helped me and taught me how to navigate through the library system. She was very kind and patient and showed me where to find books that were age appropriate for my son. Thanks for you...
