I have been here several times I know this is going to sound crazy but I love the Green Salsa here and their chip's the service is average nothing to rave about due to the fact that they take to long to get your order out and they rarely come around to see if you need anything else after you are served ,today they had " NO" Social Distancing Why? because Money matters more than people this is obviously a reflection on management , Very irresponsible on his or her part. I now want to rate the food they serve, like I mentioned before Average just like most Mexican food Establishments nothing about this place really stands out I had the shrimp cocktail which was ok plenty of small shrimp inside, the presentation was ok the crackers were stale.. Would I return? Yes only because of the Salsa and like I mentioned it's Average and Average can be found on every Corner street in Houston that has a Mexican restaurant, Would I suggest it to anyone No I would not, unless improvements were made .. Not holding my breath for this to happen, every one has different taste and tolerance levels.. 2 Star's and I'm being generous... Huevos Ranchero's, they don't understand what over easy means in English or Spanish, they practically gave me hard...
Read moreI recently visited Don Rey Mexican Restaurant #2, and I have to say, their Chilaquiles Divorciados with fajita and added eggs término medio were a flavor explosion in every bite! The combination of crispy tortillas, savory fajita, and perfectly cooked eggs was an absolute delight for my taste buds.
What's even better is that the customer service at this location is on par with their first one. The attentive staff made me feel right at home, and I truly appreciated their friendly approach.
The only minor hiccup during my visit was that some of the meat seemed a tad past its use-by date. However, this issue was not widespread and didn't overshadow the overall positive experience. I'll definitely make a note to mention this on my next visit.
Don Rey Mexican Restaurant #2 is a must-visit for any Mexican cuisine enthusiast. The Chilaquiles Divorciados are a must-try, and despite the minor meat concern, the overall dining experience...
Read moreDisgruntled service lady handed me my order with a disgust look on her face asking why I eat there so much. I should eat at home... After that every take out order I placed was wrong even after asking then to check the order at the counter. I stop going for a while but I returned I still got my order wrong. After taking it back the last time I was told that I could no longer get my take out order changed. I informed the manager I wasn't getting an order change I was correcting my order because it was wrong like it always is. Management refused to resolve the situation. All the same disgruntled service ladies are there... Its a shame because the food is good when they get it right. I just wish Don Rey treated their regulars better. Just from what I can see off bank records over the last year my house hold averaged $20,000.00 spent at Don Rey per year. That's not including what my sister's family spends, my brother's family, my mom loves Don Rey. Service help is everywhere. If you working the service industry and you don't want to be serviceable quit your job go else where. Go be a doctor, lawyer but leave the service industry to those who want to be serviceable and helpful.
