Echoes — Restaurant in Houston

This spot is a hidden gem located off of Richmond! I'll definitely be back. It's a casual environment. You sit where you like and place your order at the bar. Once you place your order, they provide you with a table number. I visited early Saturday evening and was greeted by Erica.

After I selected a table, I went to the bar and placed an order with her. While I was ordering my drink, she took the time to educate me on Greek wines.

The timing of the food between my appetizer and entree was great. I didn't feel rushed and was able to enjoy each part of my meal.

That night was a scheduled live band. However, I didn't stay. I'll definitely be back.

Lastly, I'll touch on the location. The patio dining area overlooks Richmond Ave, so you'll see a lot of traffic but it didn't change my experience. Also, for anyone who needs to be mindful of smoking. Smoking on the patio is permitted. I prefer not to be around smoking. But the party with the smokers didn't join until about a half hour till my departure, so I didn't make a fuss about it.

My significant other and I were amongst the first ones to order at our table. Yet, we were the last to receive our food. I had gotten the grilled octopus, and some parts of the octopus were RAW! My significant other got the calamari which was extremely bland and underwhelming. The food was not up to par with how much it costs.

Service was not good at all. They barely checked on our table to see if everything was alright. They should be more attentive to their customers.

Music was obnoxiously loud to the point where you can’t even hear each other speak for such a small bar.

For the underwhelming taste of the food for its prices, they also stacked a mandatory 20% gratuity without informing their customers. It was not verbally communicated to us before we ordered, and it was not stated anywhere on their menus.

The only good thing I can say about this bar is that the mocktails were delicious. Other than that, I do not recommend coming here. This bar is not worth coming to. If you want to go to a bar with better food and service,...

To start with- 1 cockroach walking on the floor. 1- another cockroach walking on the wall. Our "waiter/host" was coming to our table every halfhour, while he was having his own date while at work. My gf mentioned all staff looked High. Every time the waiter came to the table I had to ask him "are you working or what?". 3 times we got the wrong drinks. By midnight the waiter was asking if we wanted to close out now; none of my party asked for that- but it seems he was in a hurry to get out, cause minutes later that waiter was never seen again. If you see him : glasses, turtle neck shirt, short hair, white, thin mustache, around late 20's yr old.
