I recently visited Tourão for dinner with a couple friends to celebrate my birthday, and I was really disappointed with my experience. Every time i’ve been here before, I had nothing but wonderful things to say. But lately, I’ve heard from others that the quality has completely tanked and it’s not the same anymore, and I can confirm it is true. I was excited to celebrate my birthday at Tourão but as soon as they started bringing out the meats, we quickly noticed that almost every single cut was extremely dry and tough, even though we ordered medium well. I’m talking like putting 90% of your energy just to cut into a small piece of steak. The house special picanha has always been my favorite as it would melt in your mouth and was very flavorful. However, this time it was extremely chewy and very tough to cut into. Like your jaw got an intense workout trying to eat it, and it wasn’t just the picanha, it was almost every cut they brought out. Also more bland than I remember it. I even took a video of us trying to cut into the picanha to show how tough it was, but it doesn’t let me upload a video to a review, only pics. I do have to give credit where it’s due, the filet mignon was very good and tender, but one good cut does not make the rest of them being dry and tough okay. One of my friends also tried getting it medium and even though it was red on the inside, it was also very tough to chew as well. The bread rolls were also delicious. The service was also very good and the servers were very fast and constantly making sure you had food on your plate. However I was displeased by my visit due to the food, which is what you go to a restaurant for, and I can’t justify spending $80/person here anymore. Really sucks because it was my favorite brazilian steakhouse to go to for special occasions, but will now have to find another steakhouse that compares to the way Tourão used to be.

Edit: Received a reply from the manager and since it won’t let me reply back to it, i’m adding a reply to the original review. He said we opted for the well done options, when i clearly stated we got medium well and medium. I think he just automatically assumes anyone that didn’t enjoy their meal ordered well done, when it was clearly stated in the review what rarity i ordered. Check the other bad reviews, he just automatically says you ordered well done. Second, the dinner is $55 per person, but after tax, automatically added tip, and drinks, it came out to like $75 per person or something like that. Third, I said I come here on special occasions, not that I am a regular. No I do not know who you are just because i’ve come here 3 or 4 times before. Never said I...

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. My girl took me for Father's Day. She ordered a drink (passionfruit mocktail) and never got it. After 30 mins I approached the Mgr and asked if he could get her drink. He apologized and got the drink. Mind you, they weren't that busy at this time, it was maybe 8-9 tables occupied. Then, the servers kept skipping over our table. We were seated along the backside window right next to the entrance of the market table. On at least 4 different occasions, the server started towards our table then immediately turned away and went to serve another table. I then, started flagging the servers down just to get served the steaks they were taking around. Then another server had shrimp, I literally flagged him and he looked at me and kept walking. He then went back and got another thing of shrimp and as he passed, I said excuse me 4 times and he kept walking and served another table. My card was turned on green, so he should have stopped. I was very frustrated at this point and got up to speak to the Mgr. He ended up telling the owner, who came over and apologized and said I promise it's not what you think. I wasn't sure what that meant as I never said why I thought I was being skipped over and experiencing this bad service. I suppose he was referring to me being BLACK. I explained the issues to him and he offered to comp one of our meals. And gave me a coupon for $25 off 2 ppl dining valid Monday-Thursday. I didn't care for any of the discounts as it didn't make my experience any better. I have never experienced so much disrespect at any restaurant. I have never been treated like this at Fogo de Chao after the many times of visiting there. So that is where I will continue to spend my money. The market table here was mediocre and did not have as many options. Fogo de Chao food is better anyways so I will continue to go to their establishment. I usually visit the...

We 4 went to celebrate birthdays. We went for the Gaucho special($39.95) and got up sold to the higher priced one($69.95). This was a special occasion, so we chose this, not forced. However, while I ate sparingly of the salad bar and tried only 2 things on the hot Brazilian bar that looked somewhat appetizing, underwhelmed with the meat as we were not offered much variety when our cards were green. I learned to save room for the meat and not fill up on the salads etc. We never saw any chicken or sausage. We saw beef but, while our waiter promised 16 types of meat, we maybe saw 5 or 6. Picanha, garlic beef, bottom Sirloin, lamb Picanha, shrimp. The flovors were great. But, while we asked for medium, it was all over the chart. I should have kept a menu for the list offered. Our fault for not asking, but we hadn't seen each other in a while and were talking and catching up. I never saw chicken or sausage to other tables either, or that may have reminded me. They pushed a lot of alcohol, doubles on the cocktails and wine by the bottle. They kept trying to take our plates that we were still working on and had to stop them. Service was good but pushy at times. There was live music, which was great. The ambiance was nice. Parking has both valet and free options. It is probably tight if really busy. It wasn't on the Friday we went. I have been to other similar places. This one I would not go back to, unfortunately. I didn't pay for my meal as it was gifted. They did bring a sliver of cheesecake to share for our table of 4 and singer sang Happy Birthday too which was nice. This is not a kid friendly place as there is too much traffic within the restaurant...

Definitely NOT coming back to this place. The food is great, initially waiters are kind and offer you a lot of options. But at the time you’ll pay the bill, they just put a 20% gratuities without asking it for you. Me and my friends asked for the bill, the waiter did not presented us the final price and asked for our cards to pay. We trusted and give our cards to them, and when they came back, the 20% gratuity was included in the bill without our knowledge (and already paid by our cards). When we asked about it, they said that it’s mandatory for tables of more than 5 people (does that even makes sense?) and that they couldn’t change it because it was automatically inputted by the system (how can you not manage your own system lol). Kinda weird because I don’t think we should be forced to pay tips like this. And if so, they should have told us this “”rule”” since the beginning. All restaurants I’ve tried in Texas till now just include the tips after WE, the costumers, decide the amount we want to pay. We were confused about this forced tips and they didn’t seem to have the willing to manage well the situation, just wanted to receive their 20% lol I’m sorry but tips should be asked before and decided by the costumer, not the restaurant. To make it worse, when we were already outside the restaurant in the street, one of the waiters just came running to one of us saying that he needed the signed receipt from him, in a really rude tone. Not nice.

Amazing from start to finish- everything was flawless! I had to make changes to my husband's birthday dinner during Christmas Eve and was very thankful that the restaurant was open with the reservation time I needed. I loved that they have their own parking spot and offers valet as well. As soon as we got in, we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our server for the night Raul was phenomenal! He made so many recommendations and explained to some on the table the dynamics since they have not tried a Churrasqueria before. The gauchos were awesome- they kept the meat and shrimp coming and was able to accommodate some that required a different cooking temperature. The salad bar was plenty and fresh! They even had rice and curry- a nice surprise! Wanted to eat some so bad but I didn't want to stuff myself with it lol. Raul's special drink and Rafa's from the drink menu are a must try- something different for sure! Picanha, Lamb chops and leg were my favorites and of course the cheese bread. Husband was given a complimentary cachaca (sp) shot and birthday dessert. Thank you again, Raul for making this a memorable birthday dinner for my husband. A new fave restaurant for sure and will definitelv be back soon!!
