Hall Madden — Local services in Houston

I first met Kiyoshi in June, after I spent several months researching suiting options and visiting numerous clothiers. From the start, Kiyoshi was friendly and respectful; I felt welcome (unlike at some of Hall Madden's competitors). Upon my second visit, I ordered a charcoal, three-piece suit in a quality wool. (Hall Madden's library of fabric samples is extensive.) I requested several, unique styling choices - three-roll-two, six-button vest, etc.; Hall Madden accommodated nearly flawlessly - the only exception being the trousers came with a zipper rather than button fly, as I'd requested. Kiyoshi confirmed it was a manufacturing error and told me he'd have a new pair made. (The second pair was perfect.) I opted for the hand sewing, and the details are exquisite. Kiyoshi didn't rest until it fit perfectly; despite my asymmetrical frame, he recommended adjustments during multiple fittings until the suit draped beautifully. I also purchased a white, cotton dress shirt (full-spread collar, mother-of-pearl buttons), and the fabric and construction are superb. I was first intrigued by Hall Maddens broad range of offerings, particularly their informal jacket, which is the perfect balance between casual and dressy, and also their MTO shoes, which I don't see many MTM companies offering such a service. So I scheduled the last appointment with Kiyoshi, and he was very patient and thorough when explaining their services and products. He has a certain wisdom from being in the business so long, where he can really provide insight and guidance into products and fabric choices overall, to where you end up finding exactly what you're looking for. I find this hit or miss at a lot of MTM places, but am genuinely very happy with the informal jacket, pique shirt, and sneakers I got. The fit is a perfect balance of being tailored with some room, without being skinny, or loose fitting, while the fabrics are incredibly luxurious yet comfortable for the summer.
