Was recently in the neighborhood and decided to pop in and grab a (very) late lunch/early dinner and was very pleasantly surprised by this little gem! First of all, the inside was very neat and clean - well organized and bright and happy. The service was excellent - prompt, friendly, and helpful. The chips and nice a crunchy, you can tell they’re made in house. The salsa is fresh and just spicy enough - both excellent. I had the shredded chicken flauta plate. Same goes for flautas - totally homemade and piping hot from the fryer. Beans and rice were also very tasty. One minor place for improvement - rice and beans could have been a bit warmer. I will absolutely be back - can’t wait to try more menu items.

I live down the street and love, love, loveeeee El Paraiso. The owners are super sweet. Inside is clean, no sticky tables or floors, and no weird smells. 🌮 Breakfast is served all day! Great barbacoa and I love their flour tortillas. Definitely homemade with love! If you get breakfast tacos to go, they are packaged in one container rather than individually wrapped in foil. One thing I do wish is that they offered pancakes for breakfast, and papas fritas & chicken tenders for children that won’t eat Mexican food. 🥲

Tex Mex in Montose. No lunch specials but everything is fast and reasonable. Reasonable price apprx $10 and they subed in a little salad in place of rice. Entomatatos are great ( beef, chicken or white cheese {my choice}). Hadn't had them since Felix's on Westheimer closed, just a few blocks away. Parking is limited but have never had a problen finding a place. They have some unusual art work on the wall, some of it is for sale. Will return.

This place is very expensive and not that good for the price. There are flies and my set of silverware was dirty!!. The salsa is ok but cold, chips are chewy, the enchiladas stink! And what i mean by that is they actually smell terrible! They do not even provide you with napkins! You gotta keep asking the weiters to bring some. I dined alone and my bill was over 25 dollars. What surprises me is that this restaurant has decent reviews, the reality is that the restaurant looks too dirty and there is absolutely no atmosphere in there! The place is always empty, not such a good idea to bring friends for a good time, the food is terrible and very overpriced. i wont be coming back that's for sure, there are many delicious restaurants in the montrose area to be wasting money on a dumphole...

This is a good restaurant. I especially enjoy the fact that it is in a still standing older house. The menu is extensive, featuring classic dishes from Tex-Mex and also from Mexico.

I had come as part of my continuing research to locate restaurants in Houston that make a mole Poblano on premises instead of opening up a jar. I confirmed same and, though I did not have the mole enchiladas, that is, "tortillas enmoladas" as they would correctly be named, I will do so in the near future.

Today, I opted for the vegetarian platter #5 which consists of an avocado stuffed hard taco, a cheese chalupa, rice, beans and a white cheese entomatada, that is, a tortilla rolled and covered with a tomato sauce. It was very good and I would...
