Stopped by here because I remembered a friend recommended this restaurant a while back.
It is a nice quaint place with limited seating maybe about 20-25 max. Parking is too. I went on Sunday afternoon and there were some spaces available to the right of the establishment.
Service was excellent, the food was brought quickly and the tables were cleaned and drinks were refilled constantly. These employees have definitely been here a long time.
I went with the Shrimp burrito (17.99). It was very big, I could not finish it. The stiffing inside was medium sized shrimp with white cheese. If you love cheese, this is for you.
For takeout I have the two fajita taco platter (18.99). I kind of balked at the price, but knowing the cost of eating out has gone up and I have no lights at the house so I just went and got it. The meat was chargrilled and made of real flank steak. It was simply salted, I didn't mind. Again like the burrito, it was more than enough food.
In both instances, the food was definitely fresh.
Also seen in the photos is the 2 taco platter my friend had ($13.99).
I would definitely go back again if I was back in the area. Just make sure to bring at spend at least...
Read moreWhen visiting Houston, we looked for a good breakfast/brunch place and decided we'd like to try the Mexican fare first. In studying local menus, Teotihuacan seemed to offer the most options at good prices. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the dining area was clean and comfortable. I decided on my favorite dish of Huevos con Chorizo, which came with potatoes, refried (or charro, your choice) beans, a pablano & Chihuahua cheese tamale. The dishes come with a couple of salsas - one standard roasted 'red' and another avocado-based). I also got a side of two pancakes. Everything was as delicious as expected. The eggs were scrambled a bit more well done than I prefer, but that's my mistake for not requesting otherwise. And they were abundant with chorizo. The potatoes and the beans were perfectly seasoned, and the tamale was great too, especially when drizzled with the roasted red salsa. I failed to mention the wonderful fresh-griddled corn tortillas that were included with the plate. Once I started into the tasty pancakes, I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate that makes me want to go back for...
Read moreThe food is good with generous portions. BUT check your food before you eat it. I ordered the crepes after our meal and it had green mold. But whatever, things happen. So I told our waitress and sent them back. No big deal. Then, she came back saying it was just a little burnt and not mold. Like I'm stupid or something. Since when is a burnt spot going to look green? So I said, ok thank you. I proceed to the register to pay and after I paid, I told who looked like the manager what happened and he said, no the guy in the kitchen said it was just burnt. I told him that it was green it was not burt and how is it going to be burnt in that one spot but the rest looks barley cooked. He said, "well, IDK that's what he said." I asked wasn't it his responsibility as the manager to check and he said the cook was the manager not him so he doesn't know. And just brushed me off. Zero accountability. All they had to say was, "I'm sorry about that, we will be more careful next time. Thank you for letting us know ". But no customer service...
