El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Houston

I love the fact that this place serves shrimp; and that they give the option of substituting anything on their menu with shrimps for additional $1 only!

I’ve been here too many times and their staff are friendly and treats their customer very nice. What I don’t like about is that they forget the orders, sometimes. I still wonder on how can they make a mistake more often on their customers order when there are barely any customers who goes here. There is really no excuse for them to make any mistake if there are only two other customers in their restaurant, right? I’ve never seen this place busy, so the only thing that I can think of is there lack of attentiveness.

Speaking of lack of attentiveness, I’ve been noticing that nobody on their staff here really checks their dining area. Some of their tables have been dirty for who-knows-how-long already. Maybe they have a great faith that their customers are always cleaning their tables before leaving? That’s great! I think that almost everyone who dines here are throwing their trash after eating, but don’t expect that these customers would be wiping their tables, too. The tables are still dirty because of the food crumbs or some spills of the sauces, etc. Many of their staff are just at the front doing I-don’t-know-what when there are no other customers to prepare the food for. It’s fine if they want to talk to each other, but can they do that after making sure that the tables or the sauces area have been wiped? I’m pretty sure that they can.

Their chickens are tasty but somewhat dry. Perhaps because they’ve been constantly warming them up throughout the whole day...

El Pollo Loco was more than I expected it to be. First off the menu is chocked full of fresh delicious choices, i was almost overwhelmed by the possibilities. Waiting in line I admired all the chicken roasting on the grill behind the ladies taking orders with a smile, thus making my appetite more ferocious. I asked for a recommendation on the favorite of the friendly cashier who assisted me. She recommended the Tostada bowl, which is essentially a taco salad in a fried flour tortillia bowl. For a second i was mesmerized and almost forgot about my new vow of a healthier lifestyle. Against my inner fatter eat everything voice i chose the 2 piece leg and thigh meal with two sides and a water. My choice of sides were black beans and broccoli. As typical as this meal might sound i was delighted to find when I turned around that behind me laid a beautiful fresh salsa bar. And anybody that knows me well knows i looooove me a fresh condiment bar of any style or fashion. My meal was ready in minutes i loaded up on fresh pico di gallo, red and green salsa, cilantro, pickled jalapenos, and fresh serranos. My plate had gone from somewhat basic in color to a meal fit for a Dragulous Queen! I fit my lunch with an UP DO! And it was everything I needed for the day! El Pollo Loco right in front of Microcenter and next to Walmart I would suggest getting the chicken since that's the majority of what they got or black beans the charro beans don't taste as good as I had it Molina's Molina's has them beat hands down so if you want some good sides and good food you can check out Pollo Loco if you want to try the meats or you can head over to Molina's get your money's worth get there before happy hour and you get free Queso they'll tomato or tomahto play salsa is absolutely better than the hot stuff and the green salsa is good too when you're done you can take your sizes and chips with you on along with your drinks non-alcoholic of course and your dinner make sure your bag at cuz there's nothing like getting spill food inside your car and having to pay 20 or $30 to have it shampooed to get it out use the Molina's to go bags things are indestructible and reusable I've been eat at Moe at marinas for 20-30 years now since they've been in Houston since 1941 I love the people there waiters waitresses and getting to know all the managers Lupita and Marie I couldn't ask for finer people I've even offered and submitted some ideas for some recipes for them chile relleno carne Queso blanco with poblano soup over and a side of charro beans Deelishis or poblano nachos or charro bean nachos...
