Emmit's Place — Restaurant in Houston

Emmit's Place is an icon of Live Music in Houston Texas. Check out Emmit's website for the list of artists and bands that are performing here. The decor is very dated .. like it hasn't been updated since the 70's or 80's .. that being said .. it's perfect that way. Lots of high top tables and booths to sit along with regular tables and chairs. The bands I've seen are mostly center around jazz and big band type music. I've heard that there are more blues oriented bands as well. If you love live music.. this is a don't miss place .. Like the Baked Potato in Los Angeles...

I did not sample the food so I left that off my “review”.

It’s the music and environment. Nice cozy place for an intimate listening and visual experience. I was able to talk with a few of the musicians during the break.

I was thirsty so was able to get a nice mineral water (didn’t want my usual beer due to driving in from the suburbs). No pressure.

Nice people - deserving of...

Friendly people service was nice cozy laid back country style atmosphere. Only thing I wasn't happy with was there was a bug in my drink and the bartender hands were dirty, he picked up my lemon slice with his bare hands. These are the same hands that collect money touch others bank cards and on his phone. Please get some tongues for picking up drink...
