Hands down fadi's is my favorite mediterranean food place in houston - and i am Lebanese so you know i am picky and need authentic food! I love the diversity in options and that any person with any diet can find food here. However, it makes my heart a little sad when I don't see the authentic Lebanese entrees being displayed but only on the menu - i think a sample dish would help make sure the restaurant is really out there sharing what authentic Lebanese food is. I also LOVE that every dish or side says if it is gluten free, dairy free, or nut free. This is what every restaurant needs to start doing! This location is a cool concept and it is nice that they validate your parking ticket and you don't have to pay for parking. However, there is a lot of trash generated since all the plates are paper plates, the cups and cutlery are plastic, and there is no recycling in place. I did ask and they said that they are working on implementing a recycle program soon so i look forward to that! As every other fadi's location the restaurant i spotless and the service is impeccable! They also give you free tea which is a must have part of the fadi's experience - i LOVE it - black tea with cinnamon and fresh mint leaves! One comment here is please don't include the wooden or plastic stirrers in every tea cup - a lot of people, including me, don't add any sugar to their tea and these stirrers are not being used and just resulting in extra waste. Thank you to everyone that is part of this chain for bringing affordable healthy clean delicious authentic Lebanese food to...
Read moreWent for lunch with my work colleagues on a work day. I have had good experience with their other locations so was expecting similar quality and service. We tried different options available with the sides and overall food is similar to other locations. However I did not like the cheap pre-packaged so called pita bread which is not made or tastes anything like pita bread. There are quite a few better options of pre-packaged pita breads but the one they are giving here is the worse of them all. It is probably the cheapest too for a reason. The other locations bake their own pita bread which makes all the difference and not doing that here is not a good idea at all. The other issue i have is with the shawerma wrap which is more like fajita chicken or chicken kebabs cut and shreaded on a griddle instead of properly made charred on a gyro spit. The meat had no taste and the wrap was nothing like shawerma. They need to to use proper shawerma spices and herbs and season it properly. And most importantly make it like real shawerma on a cone gyro spit. Sorry, i just dont like restaurants trying to sell gyro/shawerma/doner without making it or seasoning it the real way. It took more than 15 minutes to get the wraps on the table when there were not many customers around. A shawerma shouldn't take this long to prepare.
P.S: Editing to 2 stars as management has not improved the quality of shawerma or...
Read moreThis is the Lebanese Luby’s except they don’t have a LuAnn Special but they do have the Vegetarian Platter. This review is only on their vegetarian sides. I don’t eat their kabobs or other meats because well, Persian kabobs are superior and it’s just unfair to rate them. The vegetarian platter is this amazing pick-your-own array of sides and salads. I’ll start by saying I hate beets, but I LOVE their beet salad. It’s so nutrient rich, delicious and barely has the earthy-dirt like aftertaste that beets naturally have to them. Another thing, I hate cauliflower, but I love their cauliflower. I will say their cauliflower is a little inconsistent across locations, some are more lemon-zesty. The pomegranate eggplant is another side dish that’s a little inconsistent across locations, sometimes it’s more pomegranate-y molasses-y, sometimes they have the pomegranate perils sprinkled on top. However, their inconsistencies in this area does deserve a lower star rating -just a gentle “do better.” Their salads are always fresh, swapped out often, and never soggy. Their employees are always kind and helpful. I’ve seen them deal with Karens/male-Karens/the desi version of Karens too with grace & patience, check out lines can sometime be slower than they like, whatever. The restaurant is always clean and free from visible fruit flies/bugs. 5-stars, especially for the Museum district &...
