Fajita Pete's - Energy Corridor — Restaurant in Houston

Wow, what a thoroughly blah meal. We thought we'd branch out last night and try Fajita Pete's. Bad judgement on our part. Price is comparable to the multiple long term and good mexican restaurants in the area. First off, completely shocked at the fajita's. We ordered the chicken/beef for 2 and you could tell they weigh their product. I am certain we didn't get a 1/4 gram over the lb. It did look pretty in the small tin container. That aside, the chicken was dry looking and the beef seemed to be marinated a few days too long or microwaved or something. It had this weird look, texture and taste. It looked like someone chewed on it for a while and then put it back. After tasting it, I could understand putting it back. Odd taste. Odd texture. Chicken was dry and had no flavor. Don't you get grilled onions with it you ask. Well, sorta. There were a few pieces of watery, not cooked enough onion and half a jalapeno to brighten up the meal. You get tortilla's with the order for 2. You get 4. Flour were ok, corn ?? Think it was corn. Seemed like food service tortilla's. Queso was melted white cheese with one tiny piece of red bell pepper in it. No flavor. No heat. No nothing. Guacamole was ok. My Mom got a beef fajita salad. It was blah. The meal was what I would imagine tex mex food served at a hospital cafeteria in Minnesota would taste like! On the plus side, rice and chips were good. We initially intended on eating at another restaurant in the center and were treated poorly. We then decided to go see what Fajita Pete's has to offer, and from the minute we hit the door, welcomed! Not only were the family orders, we got tasty, but great customer service goes a long way! We were informed of different menu choices and the difference in ordering a family meal. The margarita was BOMB. The fajita chicken and steak were tasty, and we for sure will be back. Even the tortilla chips have a light crisp taste. The brownie too offer a healthy choice of a snack and dessert. Were just so thankful our bad experience elsewhere allowed us to stumble into a new place that will be a new go...

First time here and when I say this is the best food I've ever had on earth I am not lying. This is literally the top 5 best places I've ever eaten in my life. I ordered the fajitas for 1 and got the shrimp and also got the veggies... they were INCREDIBLE. My buddy got the beef fajitas and man that taste was out of this world !!!! They pay attention to detail here and also the customer service experience was incredible also. We met Felipe the other day and then today met Elliot with the same consistent attitude of positivity and love for the work they do here and the food they make.
