5/5 Stars on the food. Omg the food here is DELICIOUS. Brush up on your Espanol before you come and lock your car door's. The location is meh, but the food... oh my goodness... talk about knock your socks off.

As soon as I entered, I was greeted by Gustavo wearing a warm smile. Not too noisy, few other patrons and a table full of of people which I knew was going to a be a family gathering.

I was seated promptly, (a good thing, because I came with my hangry pregnant wife), there were few 2 or 4 people tables still open. Sat down, took a look around, smelled the air, got the menu and ordered up Cafe de Olla which I spotted on the menu, and a horchata.

Some powdered doughnuts and bread were given out (the bread was good! toasted with butter, and the outside is crispy and inside chewy). Then the coffee came. The coffee is divine... the first sip and I knew I made a good decision this morning. The cinnamon is up front and center, slight sweetness to the back end. Gustavo explained something to me, but I think I heard "it's not white sugar", later I googled it, and I assume they used the real dark/black sugar. Free refills here... I probably drank 3-4 cups through out the meal.

I got the the chilaquiles (all the way, and added beef), and the wife got the 3 colored enchilada's. Man... the beef was real, you could taste the steak, nice and medium. I got the red sauce on it too, I forgot the name, but it was tart/tangy which gave the crispy chilaquiles a punch. Came with some re-fried beans, but was too busy sipping the coffee & beef chilaquiles.

I tried some of my wife's enchilada's... oh man... I'm coming back. I think there was a white sauce one, a green sauced one and a dark brown colored one. I knew the dark colored one was mole. The Mole was rich, intense, at the same time deep. The other sauces I don't remember much but, they weren't bad at all... not too cheesy, no artificial flavors... I'm just left with the deep and complex taste of the Mole sauce. My wife has eaten a lot of mole in her life, but she said this is unique.

I wanted to sit and sip some more coffee, so I ordered dessert. I ordered the flan, and Gustavo started talking about Tres Leche's, and what not, and I said "1 of each", and he repeated back to me "uno y uno", and voila... a piece of flan and a nice piece of tres leches was presented before me.

The Flan... thick, rich, not too sweet delicious. The thickness of of the flan was nice... it had a nice weight to to. It felt home made, not some processed stuff. The Tres leches.... oh man... I could eat the whole pan if they gave me. Sweet, rich, flavorful, disintegrates in your mouth.

I knew I found a good place. Everything from the warm smile & hello, all the way to "uno y uno". This is a must check out place. I had some bad to terrible Chilaquiles in my life... but when I saw how they cooked them... and the spices in the air... I knew I found a new spot I had to come to. Next time I go, definitely will take some pictures...

Well to start I used to be an employee in here and am gonna reveled the true the other people don't see about this place.

To start the food is not really fresh the aguas frescas are not made everyday sometimes the seat there for days.... Beware of the Chips they stay overnight uncover and insects crawl over them.... if you get there make sure they cook them in front of you but u may no be safe ether since they never change the oil in the fryer so have in mind that when you eat there all the fried food is fry in oil where roaches had die..

The kitchen ladies bring the kids in there and the play around with the food is been made so watch out for that they don't wash there hands and the touch there personal parts a lot when you don't see them ... Sometimes the fruits are already rotten inside and customers had complaint about it before, the re fried beans stay out for a whole day with out refrigeration and animals crawl on them this man is a wolf in a sheep skin....

He does not give days off to the employees and over work them this man is an abuser and a user just cause he wants to save money is wrong of him and his sanitizing for the food and employees is very bad and unhealthy..

This is to expose the reality of it so people stay away from the place... Is an inside look of what really happen in the restaurant.

Update:

So I come in today for father days to give the place a chance I have been waiting to be pay attention to y the waitress and so far I have been getting ignored like I don't even exist all the big tables are getting the attention but mine so far disappointed I ask for a drink refill and it's been 10 minutes and now they decided to bring it the menu was given to us and said the it wasn't the updated the owner has gone to all tables to tell the males happy father days and we yet stand ignore the food arrive is good to nice temperature my husband got chilaquiles with stake they were perfect I had chilaquoles with chorizo and yummy perfect. The bill was 44.41 for all you can eat brunch the price was fair.

On conclusion Food has gotten better service wise no good waitress need to be...

Came here after looking for a good breakfast spot in the area. I saw that they have a 4.6 rating, so the missus and I decided to give them a try. Upon walking in, we noticed the place was very clean, which I loved. The staff was very friendly and asked us if it was our first time there. We said yes. Our server walked us through the menu, and we quickly made our choices. My wife ordered a coffee, and she said it was divine. Now she's a huge coffee aficionado, so I know she wasn't lying. Then she offered me a taste, and I was able to confirm it. They also brought her a cookie, donut, and 2 pieces of toast lightly toasted with butter along with her coffee. That toast took me back to my childhood. It reminded me of my mom she would toast bread like that. Something so simple and inexpensive yet so delicious and comforting. Guacamole and chips were delicious, super fresh, and made to order. We ordered desayuno mexicano and chilaquiles verdes, and I added chicken tinga to them since that was one the guisos of the day. We kept talking to each other and raving about the food while we were eating. Our server kept checking on us to make sure everything was of our liking, and it totally was. This little fonda surpassed our expectations. We're looking forward to coming here again even though we're not from the area. They have brunch on the weekends, and we're so eager to try that. If you're in the area, please pay Fonda Santa Rosa a visit. I promise you will not be...
