Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Houston

This was a nice change of pace I went in very clean spot very friendly people got a 8 piece meal with coleslaw and rice and tortillas very tasty fresh food chicken cooked to perfection the people were very friendly nice variety tried the chicken empanadas would have put a post in a picture however I ate them they were delicious this place has sodas juice meals serves lunch or dinner the chicken is awesome very quickly was able to order my food friendly service price is very comprable to the x 8 piece meal was roughly $25 beats for people nice array of seating space very well even for covid this place is a gem in the rough I've passed it a bunch of times but this time when I stepped in I realized what I've been missing I think anybody that comes here's going to enjoy the food there's always something there for everybody the fruit juice drinks with a bomb I got the mango Mandarin water which quenched my thirst superbly was not too sweet snuck a try of the horchata it was very good it appears that everything that I've tried year so far is very well made crash and they make the food with pride I would suggest this to any of the people that read my post to don't be shy into try it I think you will have a great time chicken grilled or fried empanadas desserts drinks plenty of sides like mashed potatoes coleslaw french fries rice beans tortillas rolls like And subscribe and follow me for more great reviews I give...

This place never disappoints. The chicken is very tasty and always juicy. They also have horchata which I love. You can get chicken empanadas here as well as bowls. UPDATE: Still delicious UPDATE: 7-23-24 THINGS HERE ARE GOING DOWN HILL.Told 35 mins to get grilled chicken . I pay and wait...35 mins. I ask where's the food and they tell me 15 more mins.!!! This has happened to me several times at this location. Not good, not cool, terrible way to run your buisness, not to mention when they first told me it would be 35 minutes for the chicken I said I would wait and the manager said " really you're going to wait 35 minutes for the chicken" ? Are you kidding me.? I most likely won't be back here again, I'm tired of waiting, the staff should know when they are running low in product to start making it THEN. You don't wait till you run out and you certainly don't keep extending the wait times. I feel like the staff here are lazy, they do what gets them by and that's it. They just don't want to do there job, they seem agitated they have do stuff. If one person would have said , "hey I'm sorry for the wait... I heard of Pollo Campero from a Guatemalan who swore by this food so I had to try. Unfortunately my spanish is no bueno so if you go, practice because my order was not what I ordered and when trying to ask about it I got a warm smile but no acknowledgment. Luckily im very patient and realized this chain probably serves mostly hispanics so accepted the reality. The chicken is definitely tasty but didnt have much flavor. The crust was crunchy but I could tell chicken wasnt marinated before the coating. My fries were interesting too as they were all stuck together and not salted and not sure if thats how its supposed to be but ive had way better. I didnt get any condiments and was expecting some authentico salsa or something so that was also new to me. The box everything came in was a new twist Ive never experienced. Overall it wasnt terrible but wasnt what it was all hyped up to be and am sure its more nostalgic for Chapines to have a piece of home.
