Ok, Sooooo! FRANK'S GRILL! Let's Chat! So this was my first time visiting Frank's, which just may be considered an insult to the Culture as a Houstonian, HA! But I digress! I visited during brunch hours, and for my non-brunchers, this would be anywhere between 10:30a to 2p. Frank's Grill restaurant is a teeny tiny hole in the wall, so parking space as well as seating are extremely limited. The restaurant was absolutely PACKED from front to back and every crevice in between! However, I was able to snag an open seat at the "bar" directly in front of the grill, and I couldn't have chosen a better view! I definitely enjoyed watching up close the hustle and bustle of the kitchen staff scurrying about, freshly preparing multiple breakfast/brunch orders all at once. Service wise - The waiters were very friendly and efficient! I loved how accommodating the staff were to myself and the other customers even during major rush hour. But what stood out to me the most about this restaurant's service, was how well every staff member worked together as a collective. I noticed that everyone helped with everything, making for a quick, and very efficient service flow. I don't know about you, but I just love to see unity wherever it may be found! So Kudos Frank's Grill on placing 5 stars high in the Service Category! Now on to the Food - I gave 5 stars in this category! The menu offers a wide variety of food choices, without overwhelming the customer and every dish is made to order, diner style. So although you may need to add salt to certain dishes such as the hashbrowns and eggs, the food is cooked right in front of you and served fresh, and piping hot. I also took notice that the restaurant cooks with real eggs, thick sliced bacon and fresh ham! I ordered the Fried Fish Breakfast Special - which was priced at $13.95. This particular Special came with two healthy sized golden pieces of perfectly fried fish (possibly tilapia, I forgot to ask, but def was not catfish), two eggs made your way, and hashbrowns. I opted out of the biscuit or toast that also comes with the special, but the portion size overall was nice for the price! Now, since Frank's is not a "fast food" restaurant, be prepared to wait a bit, especially on a weekend and during brunch hours. ` The wait did not at all feel uncomfortable or excessive and since I was seated directly in front of the grill, I was distracted from the wait time by watching all of the different foods being prepared. Whole time, I was constantly contemplating adding almost everything I saw to my own order! As for Atmosphere - I only gave 2 stars in this category, because while Houstonian's know Frank's Grill to be a great spot for great breakfast, we also know that there is literally NO atmospheric presence to be found. However, what Frank's Grill lacks in atmosphere, is easily made up for in food and service! Go check them out!

Here is some advice for the lady at the front, if a customer tips 30% on his take out order and y’all forget his coffee , don’t charge him $3 dollars for a measly little coffee by making him pay again via his debit card. You see that little $3 just cost y’all repeat business. That is basic customer service and operating a business. I’m a restaurant owner and if someone tipped my employee x amount and we forgot the drink, I’d be more than happy to comp a low cost coffee , that’s the LEAST I would do. I’m giving 2 stars and not 1 because the girl who took my order was very nice and she packed all the to-go up, I don’t think it was on her; but the lady at the front desk today just cost y’all.

It had been years since I had eaten at Franks Grill only because I moved further North of where I used to live. But, the food especially Breakfast is as it always has been top notch. The place is compact but plenty of space to dine in at a table or the counter. The waitress came by fast to take our drink order then our meal order on her return. I ordered the Breakfast special eggs cooked my way, bacon, hash browns and two fluffy pancakes. My friends had French Toast and chicken n waffles. The food was Hot, Fresh and Delicious. I highly recommend it.🍳🥞😋

We got 3 Breakfast specials with a large side of gravy, a waffle breakfast, and a fish and waffle combo. they don't have iced coffee options so I ordered a hot coffee. Let it cool off got a cup of ice and added my cream so it worked out. There were a couple of mistakes with our order. First, the waitress misunderstood my son, and brought chicken instead of fish. This delayed our food a bit, but everything else came out correctly until our "dessert" This was a birthday celebration And we ordered the chocolate chip waffle special and got a chocolate chip pancake with just a little whip cream on it. The waitress argued, saying I said pancake, but I hate pancakes and we had predetermined to get the chocolate chip waffle as a birthday cake if you will. So I told her will pay for the pancake just bring back the waffle and I wanted the one that's pictured under the title, chocolate chip waffle that has whip cream and chocolate, drizzle, powdered sugar, and a cherry on it. She just brought back a plain old waffle made with chocolate chips in it and a couple blobs of whip cream. Disappointing. Overall, the food was decent tasting with the exception of the fish. Part of it was good, but then my son said parts of it were hard and inedible. The scrambled eggs were a little dry more over cooked than just scrambled hard. The sausage was overdone and crumbled a part but it still tasted good. The bacon was good quality, thick bacon. The pancake was average, the waffle was good but a little softer like a pancake, rather than your crispy version. The hashbrowns were almost mashed potatoes. The grits were water down and lumpy. The gravy was bland until I added the crumbled sausage, but it did the job. I was surprised, considering all the great reviews. The facilities are clean with the exception of the ceilings being a little dilapidated. The parking lot is rough. I'm not sure if we'll be back especially since I ended up paying over $100 and not really getting what we...

Sour bacon. Usually i love Franks grill . i frequently go to the one off Spencer Hwy Been going over a decade... But today i went to the one of Mangum and 290. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I left there and have had to stop and go to the rest room twice on my way to 1960 I have sour stomach..and im throwing up. The bacon was rancid...i only took two bites..told waitress it tasted bad. Couldn't even finish the plate i paid over 18 dollars for. And i had to immediately go to the bathroom there at Franks. Thats 3 tripsto the bathroom in less than 1 hour. I pray i dont have food poisoning...im going to call them about that bacon in just a few minutes...this is unusual for Franks grill. LOL....so i called and spoke with the manager....she tells me it has to be something else....not their food because i just left and it takes 3 hours for any reactions to there food to occur....she says the Health department told her this....I work in health care....it occurs within 30 mins-3 hours... Smdh. So also add bad customer services to this location. She remembers me returning the bacon. She saidit had to be something else i had previously. It was 7:30 am when i got there....there was no previous..unless you count tooth bushing....any way....i wasnt asking for a refund. Just wanted them to know the bacon is...
