Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Houston

I started my day out exceedingly happy that I would be able to enjoy some Freddy's as its the only meal I was going to eat out this week.

I was first met in the drive thru by someone who's tone of voice was nice; however, it seemed like they weren't paying full attention to me and my order as I had to repeat myself a few times. Though, I thought this was normal and simply went ahead to the window to pick up the order.

Upon getting the order I was handed the incorrect size of drinks (also charged for the incorrect size). This confirmed my suspicions that I wasn't really being listened to while I was in the drive thru.

I thought nothing of it - freddy's food always makes up for any kind of small mistake like that and at least my drinks were the right type just incorrect size.

Upon receiving my food though I was met with more disappointment. I was never once asked if I wanted Fry Sauce - nor was any supplied to me, and then as I pulled my fries out of the bag and tasted them they were bland and nearly seasonless. The main reason why I go to freddy's in the first place is how amazing the fries are when you get them fresh. These were blander than day old toast.

The final mistake came when I looked at my "large" chili cheese fries that I had ordered. The amount of fries that I was given in the "large" was the exact same size that comes in a regular, it's like they made a mistake and just put it in a larger container.

Disappointing for a place that I have never seen...

Twice I’ve been to Freddy’s and twice I was on the outside drive-through and had to back out as the cars at the inner speaker continued to go through while I waited Miraculously as I pulled up to the inside speaker the outer speaker was finally being serviced by someone and taking orders But then no one was answering mine. I got frustrated and just pulled around to the window where I placed my order The girl was sweet but didn’t really seem too concerned about reporting the problem. I think I was very polite and gentle when I explained what had happened but perhaps it made the girl nervous?? Because as she was handing me drinks and Sundays the lids were not on proper and I ended up wearing half of the ice cream sundaes I kind of expected her to hand me napkins or apologize or even give me a fresh Sunday but now I just asked for the napkins and drove away as by this point I was in a hurry The hamburgers were OK but I see why they sell double patties the single patty is so super thin it’s a bit of a surprise My remaining custard was delicious ! Freddy’s got cheap on us…

I take my daughter there every once in a while for a daddy/daughter burger and custard. Aside from the custard, she really looks forward to the basket of fries because that’s the only time she can eat all the fries she wants. It’s her favorite place to go!

Yesterday, we went there and got her a kids cheeseburger and I got a double bacon cheeseburger, hold the custard.

When I picked up my order, I saw the tiny To Go fry container sitting in the basket with her burger (mine were in a container too). I asked the guy at the counter why they didn’t just dump fries in the basket. He said he’s been told the past month to do it this way. I said “The whole point of coming inside is so my daughter can eat the pile of fries that y’all dump in the baskets.” He just shrugged…ugh…I was so angry and my daughter was disappointed, so I gave her my fries.

I hope this was a misunderstanding, but, if this is the norm, it might be time to find a new place. That kids fry is pathetically small for that big ole basket and nearly ruined our visit.
