Was a little curious what tales the old Darwins Pub was going to tell with this new spot that opened up a few months ago. Great first date spot. We went for Houston Restaurant Weeks for $39 each. We were able to pretty much choose anything 1 item from each course on the menu. Great idea. We chose the cast iron corn bread. Damn good. The crab dip. I could order 4 of these. Would be nice to have with small toast bites instead of chips, but that may just be me. Shrimp poppy was amazing. The bread was soft and pillowy. And for dessert, the boozy tiramisu. And when I say boozy... its BOOZY!. bourbon I think. All in all had a fantastic meal here. Service was great. Donna was very polite and new the menu well. Made recs. Read moreIf you are looking for fresh organic and a great mix of flavors , Good god Nadine’s is the place to go. They make their food from the products of their own farm and the chef is sooo creative. I love their baked goat cheese with the great taste of grilled grapes and pecans. Their salads are made with fresh veggies of their farm served with a delicious dressing. Also their roast beef sandwich tastes like home cooked perfect sandwiches you can find. I highly recommend Good god Nadine’s , definitely one of Houston’s top...
Read more“GGN” is a great find! A limited menu, but everything we had was DELICIOUS! We started with Oysters on the half shell, which were served nice and cold with two topping sauces and some really good crackers (not just ordinary saltines). Next, we had the Baked Dapper Goat Dairy Goat Cheese, which was FANTASTIC. It was sweet, creamy, with roasted grapes, and served with delicious sliced bread. Next, my husband and I split a Debris Po-boy, and it should win an award for great taste! We are going back later this week, with plans to indulge in the HOT CRAB DIP, THE SESAME GUACAMOLE, and the BLACKENED REDFISH PO-BOY. Oh - - - and the cocktails were also terrific! All of that glorious food, and 2 cocktails for around $70! It was nice to have a great meal in comfortable surroundings and not feel violated when presented...
