Where do I begin? My sister invited me to dinner at her favorite restaurant located in Houston Texas called Grace's. She was so excited to take me here. When I arrived I just loved the atmosphere! I loved the different style seating and that you have choices if you want to do a fine dining experience or casual. We did fine dining pretty much, we made a reservation we had the perfect table in the perfect corner. We had the perfect waiter named Bruce! The curtains and all of the decor all in the walls and ceiling made me feel like I was literally sitting in Grace's house and all the people there eating were her grandchildren! The love is thick in this building! We started out with cornbread which is a jalapeno cornbread. It was absolutely delicious the best cornbread I've ever had in my life! Followed up with the potato dip! Which I'm a queso fan and it was absolutely amazing! I ordered the stuffed chicken breast with the crawfish sauce collard greens and mac and cheese and My son ordered the seafood platter. The food was as if it was made specifically for us. The love in the food you could taste in every bite! I can't explain how good it was just with words. You have to go experience this on your own to understand where I'm coming from. Johnny Carrabba's family was actually sitting at the next table over which was pretty cool. His parents come every Saturday to eat dinner there. This is a very special place and if you are in Houston or passing through you definitely need to experience this if you are a food lover as much as we are. I also had a lemon drop Frozen drink which was so good! This place is now my favorite restaurant and I plan on trying everything on the menu overtime! Thank you Grace's for an amazing experience I look forward to...
Read moreI recently visited Graces to try their $39 Restaurant Week special menu, which promised a three-course meal featuring some of their signature dishes. I was super excited to dive into the experience, but unfortunately, it fell far below expectations.
We started with the sticky ribs, which was a complete letdown from the moment it arrived. The presentation was awful—it looked like they had just scooped the ribs onto the plate without any care or finesse. It was literally just three pieces of meat splattered on the plate, making it an unappealing sight. Both the taste and presentation were incredibly disappointing.
For the second course, I ordered the gumbo, which was another disaster. It looked and tasted like it was made by "Chef Mike"—a cheeky reference to it being microwaved rather than freshly prepared. The gumbo was so bad that I had to send it back and opted for the tortilla soup instead. While the tortilla soup was decent, it was still far from impressive and didn't redeem the meal.
The third course featured beef tender tips, which were just average and didn't stand out in any way. Surprisingly, the best thing we had during the entire experience was the complimentary cornbread, which was the only highlight.
To make matters worse, the service was extremely poor. Our server only came by once to ask if we needed anything, leaving us feeling neglected and frustrated throughout the meal.
Overall, it's difficult to even justify giving this experience one star. Graces truly missed the mark with their Restaurant Week offering, and honestly, they shouldn't have participated at all. It's an embarrassment and a disservice to what Houston Restaurant Week is meant to showcase. Save your time and money—this was a huge...
Read moreI have seen this place and heard others talk about it. However, I had never experienced it. I am a native Houstonian, and I recognize there are new and established restaurants throughout the city that I haven't tried. After the amazing experience I had, I want to encourage you to go to Grace's.
Hostess, server, random employees, and one of the owners were all very pleasant. Welcoming atmosphere and beautiful people. Special shout-out to Troy (our waiter). He was absolutely amazing!!!!

Listen!!!! Everything that passed my lips was delectable!!! "Tha Cornbread" in the cast iron skillet reminded me of an ole skool granny. Like who' back there in that kitchen. They must have batwing arms making cornbread like that.....
The cajun stuffed chicken breast......The sauce was given Nola vibes. I asked Troy, who is in the kitchen, and he said Jose or someone, I'm like, I know you lying....That dish was craaaaazy flavorful and the portion was large. It came with collard greens, but they cooked it with pork, so I ordered the green beans instead. The green beans were no slouch either. They hit, too!
The sweet potatoes had me rethinking my recipe for the holidays. I mean, come on, yall. Everything is good. How is it possible? Everythang!!!!!! I am trying to schedule my next visit. The food was so good, I bought the cookbook, lol.
