The worst experience with a furniture store ever in terms of customer service. I would give this store 5 stars for the quality and price range of the furniture but nothing more. Having our furniture delivered and assembled has been a nightmare. I write this after our furniture got delivered on Aug 1 and we are still waiting for parts and assembly 2 weeks later. When we purchased a large order (table and 6 chairs, sectional couch and ottoman, king bed) we were told we would receive free shipping and free assembly. Upon arrival of our items Aug 1 they were unloaded off the truck into our house and then left in the boxes in the corner and the delivery people left. I was surprised since I was promised free assembly upon delivery. I called the store and explained what happened and was told "Oh that happens sometimes, if you don't heckle them to put your furniture together they'll just leave". I have never heard of that type of customer service before so I asked when they could return to put together all our furniture. They came back over to the house on Aug 4th and when opening the door I was greeted by two men who said "you could have told us to stay that day you know, to put things together" I responded " I didn't know I was supposed to ask you to put things together for me when the store told me you were going to assemble them" The assembly was quite quick, but our bed was missing the legs that screwed in so they didn't finish assembling and called the ware house to figure out where these pieces are. I was told that they would return the next day with the legs to finish the job. I did not hear from anyone in the company the next three days. When I called to ask what was going on I was told there was a manufacturer error and that they would be shipping new beds and pieces and they would be in next week (today Aug 14). I was never contacted so I decided to call after 1 week of not hearing from them and our bed left unfinished. They arrived today (Aug 14) to assemble the bed with the wrong legs and had to go back to the warehouse to find the "problem". We've never gotten a clear conversation as to what is going on, nor offered any kind of discount, compensation, or reimbursement for everything and we still do not have a bed. Beyond frustrated.
*Editing to 4 stars only because the warehouse manager called us to fix the problems, and showed up himself at ur door to put our bed together. Today the warehouse manager called to check on things and said he had a surprise to drop off for us for all the trouble we had been through. He dropped off an end table for us that matched the rest of the furniture we had purchased. We ordered a leather couch, dining room table and a few bedroom items (nightstands, dresser) at the end of Oct 2021.
Before the day of delivery, we called the main store line shown on Google multiple times and were reassured that someone would follow up with us and finalize when delivery would be made. Since we were moving into a new place and because we had other engagements that day, communication was crucial. We got 1 call to myself and my boyfriend each, and we couldn’t hear anything so we called right back. No pickup. We left voicemails and also followed the instructions to send an email to the email address they mentioned. No response. I finally looked through the Google reviews and found the number for a guy who contacted Wendy (the main logistics lady). They finally confirmed that they were going to deliver that day. They did deliver on Saturday, however, my boyfriend had to miss part of our engagement that day because they were running late.
Today, not even 1 month later, one of the legs fell off the leather couch! I called the main line at the store and left an email, but the woman who answered said there’s absolutely no way that someone can come fix the issue until a weekday—despite the fact that we live in midtown (aka SUPER CLOSE, like less than a 10 minute drive from their store) and deliveries are done on Saturdays also. I explained that we are having a Friendsgiving tomorrow with 30 people coming, which made no difference. We spent approximately $5,000 with them and felt it was important to support a local, small business, but there’s no sense of responsibility over the product sold or the customer service at this place.
In short, you are better off just buying higher quality mid-century modern furniture that lasts from CB2, Elizabeth Cole, or heck,...
Read moreWe bought a Kano and a Ferre sofas at the same time from MidInMod eight month ago , and the legs that secures the sofa together underneath of Ferre were severely misaligned. The legs were severely shaking and not able to use the sofa. We called the company who sent someone out to correct it, and the legs and the body of Ferre sofa started to shake in two weeks again. Whenever I called the company back, they started to blame us for not using it properly. I bought Ferre and Kano in the same day but never had any problems with Kano sofa even we used Kano more than Ferre. Moreover they suggested to fix the sofa with additional charge. Thanks for nothing.
Additionally, I was pretty impressed with the comfort of all of the designs at the showroom. I liked the Kano we purchased, but the Ferre sofa and armchairs I sat in were very uncomfortable. Even if we hadn't been impressed with the Kano sofa, I wouldn't buy anything else from MidInMod.
Update: after 6 months of use, the fabric of our Ferre began to pill terribly and pull apart at the seams, exposing the foam inside. The fabric used on Ferre sofa is simply not durable enough for everyday use. I can only recommend Ferre sofa for occasional seating that is not used very often. MidinMod tried to blame the wear and tear on our daily use even we use the sofa 4/5 hours a day. They offered a replacement the Ferre couch with a brand new one with additional costs however gave up.
