Great American Cookies — Restaurant in Houston

My daughter and her friend bought ice cream at this place yesterday (7-24-21) and had a horrible experience: as they were eating their ice cream they found what seem pieces of paper (inch long) mixed in the ice cream. When they went up to the person in charge to let them know of the issue, an older lady and and a young girl just stared at them as if they were crazy. My daughter told them she was bringing the issue up out of concern for small kids possiblychecking on it. The two ladies didn't say a word and the young one took the cup from her hand and threw it in the trash. No refund was given and the ice cream was not replaced as it was half way full. Being that my kid and her friend are none confrontational they decided to walk away from the place in disgust. If this is how you guys treat your customers I would recommend to go into a different way of making money. Would advice people to not spend their hard earned money here as I'm sure this is not the first time this type of...

Last time I came here, there were 3 people behind the counter eating and they said they were all on lunch and were closed. Today, I come back (the nail salon I go to in right across from them) and there are three employees eating behind the counter. One asks what I need as she wipes food from her face. No gloves, doesn’t even wash her hands. I tell her the ice cream I choose and that she can give us half the portion so it doesn’t spill over and she says with an attitude, “it’s the same price if you get all of it or not”. I told her it was fine and explained my reasoning. The other girl behind the counter eating her fruit pops up to take my payment and asks if I need change (ummmm YES.) This place definitely needs some management and/or training. A deep cleaning wouldn’t be a bad idea either. They should also have their employees wash there hands. Fingers and under nails were disgusting....

We used to get ice cream here almost every weekend, and the staff was always attentive. However, this weekend was a complete nightmare. A rude and arrogant staff member served us. While we were trying to place our order, she was playing on her phone instead of attending to us. By the way, there were no other customers! She even claimed to be the manager of the store.

We’ve always paid $12.78 for two cones, but this time they charged us $19.44, claiming they were large. I had never checked the Google reviews before, but if I had known it had a 3.3-star rating, I would never have brought my kids here. This was the last straw! Unfortunately, businesses lose their major investments because of poor staff...
