Gyro King — made in NYC — Restaurant in Houston

UPDATED REVIEW: Came for lunch and people who attended us were nice but the manager was unprofessional. I was halfway done with my meal and a roach was crawling on my styrofoam plate ALIVE. I get up to let the manager know and he takes the whole tray immediately to the back to wash it. I am waiting by the counter and the manager said what do you want? What do you need? I let him know I do not want to finish my food or have it remade, just a refund. The manager was not understanding what I was explaining and ask me how much of it did I eat. (Which is besides the point) I let him know I want to refund that plate at least partially. At this point he was frustrated and started questioning what is it I want, never once apologizing. He went over and questioned me on my order while the other (nicer) employees helped him so he could refund it. I went up with my card and just said done to me not giving me a receipt. I still haven’t seen the refund post to my account, I am giving that some time to process. I threw up in the restroom and my friend discarded the rest of her food as well. The manager still told us to have a nice day after the whole ordeal which was comical but disappointing.

Horrible attitude for making the incorrect order + smaller portions than other locations.

When I placed the order I asked the guy what all is on the chicken over rice bowl. He didn’t answer, so I listed 4 veggies (lettuce, onions, cucumbers and tomatoes) that I was able to read of the menu to confirm with him if that’s all the things that were in the bowl and he said yes. I told him I only wanted 3 of the 4 veggies, so no tomatoes.

Then another guy who was making my bowl put over 5-6 different veggies on the bowl without reading the ticket. When I told him that I didn’t want those, he had a bad attitude and very rudely started picking the veggies off instead of making a fresh bowl. He didn’t even listen to which veggies I did want. I asked him several times to remake my bowls instead of picking the veggies off but he continued to ignore me and finally just walked off to let the someone else make the bowl. Finally when they were re-making my bowl, they ran out of cucumbers which was one of the veggies I had picked, so instead I told him to sub it with another one. He had an attitude again and made me feel like I was the bad customer when they couldn’t get the order right. This whole time I was being polite to them understand that they are busy, but the attitude at the end did it for me. I have given this location 3 chances and today they continue to disappoint and we wont be back. We were the only customers this morning when they opened, the lone employee was on the phone taking an order. She said it would be just a few minutes as she was on the phone so we waited 21 minutes for her to get off the phone to take our order. After that it took an additional 23 minutes to receive our food. Yeah, I looked at my watch and compared it to the time stamp on the receipt. Our lamb gyros were like leather, the meat was not freshly cut from the rotisserie but pulled form a steam table that had held it for who knows how long and the meat was not even hot. The fries were cold, stone cold. I also ordered from falafel that were cold, rock hard and dry. The topping to this lack luster lunch was my experience going to the restroom to wash my hands only to be met with the other employee leaving the restroom and leaving behind a poop speckled toilet, I mean seriously destroyed as if he had explosive diarrhea. He had not even washed his hands and left this horrid mess and smell behind. SO can't trust this place with their service, food handling...
