I enjoyed this place, the margherita pizza was delicious and I didn't notice the jazz band that was playing outside until I left but the little bit I heard, they sounded fantastic.
The reason I'm giving 1 star is because the bartenders lied and scammed a member of our large group out of money. I stood there with the person who paid the entire bill and heard the bartenders, one woman wearing glasses and one man, say the total was $535.58 and asked how much tip he would like to leave. He looked at me and I told him 20% so they added it to the bill for a total of $669.47. When he was handed the receipt to sign, he marked through the tip section because he did not leave an additional tip. That member of our group then left. A few minutes later, as I was still at the bar, I hear a different member of our group say loudly, "He didn't tip?!?!" and proceeded to take cash out of his wallet. I asked what he was talking about and was told the person who paid didn't tip and showed me the receipt that the bartenders had handed to him where a line had been drawn through the tip section. I then explained that yes, he absolutely did tip and recounted the above story. The woman with the glasses then tried to backtrack by saying, "that's just a bartender expression". Lady.....what? What is a bartender expression?? Straight up lying about someone not tipping is bartender expression? No. That's a bartender SCAM. The only reason I walked away is because the person who was scammed told me to let it go and as it was his money he handed over, that's on him.
I'm sure this place will survive without our future business, I would just like the owner to know that we would definitely have held future work functions here but it will never happen again. And, if we had been scammed with our company's money, as our company paid for this work outing, this would be escalated much further.
I would also like future patrons to know, that if you decide to come here, carefully watch your bill and make sure you're being charged appropriately (since they scammed us on the tip, it wouldn't surprise me if they over charged us on the food and drinks as they did not provide an itemized receipt) and make sure everyone you come with knows...

Iโm at a party here for the new year and waited in line for 30mn once I got to the bartender I asked for a virgin drink because I havenโt had any food all day and didnโt want to have upset stomach. Iโm currently here waiting to talk to the person charge named Diego because myself my cousin and bestie were just treated worst than trash and discriminated against. As I stated earlier it was my turn to order the bartender just told me they didnโt have the drinks I asked for as in he would not be making virgin drinks and he just looked behind us and called two Hispanics to the side and I tried to get his attention again 3times and he didnโt respond. We are 3 black women who were tossed aside, nothing new. We spent near $200 to come here to be treated like slave. Ivy bar located at 2613 Potomac Dr. Houston, TX 77057....

My friend and I were seeking a place where could have some freshly made cocktails with fragrant ingredients. Ivy did not disappoint! Our bartender cut fresh fruit and vegetables as well as used fragrant spices in his mixology. Our cocktails did not disappoint! Although it was not crowded, everyone was very friendly and we made new friends!! Daniel, one of the regulars, guided us in trying exotic drink selections! There is a cozy, chic indoor area as well as ample outdoor seating on the rooftop patio. I cannot wait to go back and sample the Italian fare on their menu! Everything looks delicious! I will...
