Kim Cafe — Restaurant in Houston

Hole in the wall place took me by surprise! Friendliest service I've had in a long time. Went with a girlfriend for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by how great everything was. We both agreed that we judge a Chinese food restaurant by their hot and sour soup so we ordered that with our lunch specials. by the time I was done I had to resist licking the bowl it was very very good.

I ordered the salted pepper crispy chicken which is a lightly fried chicken dish. it was a lot of little chicken pieces lightly fried salty with crushed red pepper a very light sauce the portion size is insane I had to take half home to save for later. The lunch came with fried rice, spring rolls and a cheese puff. if we had time to sit there longer I probably would have finished it off it was so addicting.

my friend ordered the orange beef lunch special I had to buy the meat was tender, the flavor was amazing and she agreed that this dish was a new favorite.

When you are looking for this restaurant it's in a pink strip center that is kind of run-down but just look for the Pappas BBQ and it's in the corner of the strip Center, kind of hidden...

I was looking for a place nearby. In the mood for egg drop soup primarily. Saw this place and have never been. Needless to say I am impressed. It's a very small establishment, yet quaint and very friendly atmosphere. As far as egg drop soups are concerned. Hands down.. one of the best I've had. Decided to try the orange beef, and again.. very impressed. Everything was piping hot, fresh, and perfectly flavored. I've had orange beef before, but you can actually taste a touch of orange in this one. Most I've had before, you can't really taste it.

Owner/chef was super friendly. Very accommodating. One thing about reviews..I always read them keeping in mind "why" people rate good or bad. Not just simply.. what's the rating.

I really haven't seen a bad review about the quality... quantity....value or in general how it tastes. I mostly see miscommunication and maybe some showing up on a busy day. Therefore I decided to try.

Absolutely one of my go to places now. Very affordable. Great portions. Temp was perfect. Very tasty..I feel they hit all important spots. Looking forward to go back to try...

i have been a customer here for the past 12 years ever since my parents brought me as a kid, they have the best quality food and the quantities are amazing. You really can't any more homely down to earth Asian cuisine anywhere else for the prices they offer. The staff is very helpful and generous and never fail to greet with a smile. Unfortunately, some of the guests I've seen in the past years have taken advantage of their kindness and have taken to the internet to try and slander this business and its staff for a small mistake in miscommunication with orders. I can assure you that Kim Cafe has not once let me down in service or show any signs of an unsanitary establishment. I absolutely love Kim Cafe and hope to one day introduce this wonderful establishment to my future children and so on. I hope my review has brought light to how amazing this restaurant is regardless of the negative things said from...
