La Pupusa Loka — Restaurant in Houston

I'm loca for pupusas. My accountant is next door. It's become a tradition that when I'm done with my taxes, I go next door to have a pupusa. The place looks clean. I started with a fruit salad drink. It's too sweet. But I did like all the chopped fruit they add. I ordered a cheese and loroco pupusa. The cheese could have been more melted. The pupusa is accompanied by curtido (cabbage) and a tomato sauce. The waitress offered me picante sauce but I don't like spicy. My friend ordered two pupusas and the cheese did look stretchy and melted. His were fajita and chicken. He loved them. He was surprised to pay about $3.50 for a Topo Chico. Apparently, the menu is new. So they probably increased the prices. The music playing was cool Latin American rock. The waitresses don't speak much English. The place was not busy but folks were picking up orders. They have big screen TVs and a bar too. They have Salvadoran goodies for sale by the bar. I recommend the quesadillas, salpores and semita. 02/22/25 Service was great. Took a little while to get someone even though the place was not packed, but she came and she was very attentive and apologized for the wait. We actually came because of a ticktock video. Paid 72.46 which I included the receipt for reference. I asked about the service charge and the other girl not the one who helped us said it was " propina incluida" "tip included" there was nothing said or written anywhere stating the tip was going to be included in the bill. I honestly think why charge a tip included when they don't even know if the person giving the service is worthy of a tip. I did not give a tip just because it was already included I would have but not if you're making me already give you one. I know it's not the servers fault but the owner is taking away from them. The food is decent but the customer service is bad. They take extremely long to give your order. The day I went I only had 30 mins for lunch and they gave me my order in my last 5 minutes. When I asked the waitress for the tab I was eating in such a rush that I signed it and forgot to put the tip. Before I got the chance to tell her I needed to fix it when I realized, she starts talking mess with the other waitress and then approaches me to tell me that I'm rude and that the tip doesn't come included. First of all, you don't get an attitude with a client. If I wanna tip or not that's up to me. It was simply a misunderstanding but for the simple fact that she spoke to me like that, I still did not tip. You took forever to give me my food and then you didn't even serve me.
