Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Houston

My wife and I went here for lunch on the 13th. We were greeted but took 25 mins ti even get a server and our drink order. We ordered after another 30 minute wait (the place had hardly any people in there dinning). We got our food and it was cold the server checked on us only once leaving us with no drinks for the time we were dining. The check comes I add tip even though the service and food were horrible. I check my bank account and lupe tortilla had made a charge for $7.92 over the amount on that I had left including tip. I call the manager while in the car since that's when I noticed told him why is it that my card got charged the amount that it was charged when I have the receipt and it's over by almost 8 dollar( not a big deal but it's wrong how they just charge that amount with out consent ) he then claims that's not possible I sent him screen shots of the charge and it had time and date and the amount along with the restaurant name. He tries to make it seem is my fault and my banks fault yet I've never had any issue like this with any other restaurant or other locations of lupe tortilla. He insist is my bank I clear up its not . The whole time the manager made it to where his employee didn't over charge even with proof. I wasn't backing down because if they do this to every customer they make a killing and customers don't usually pay attention to the transactions when they go out and dine but if you eat here make sure you check your acct they will try and sneak a few bucks out of you . My boyfriend and I dined there on 02/18/2025 at approximately 6 PM, and we were seated immediately—an increasingly rare convenience in today’s bustling restaurant scene. The absence of a wait time certainly set a positive tone for the evening.

Our waiter, Kaleb, was nothing short of exceptional. His attentiveness, professionalism, and warm demeanor enhanced our experience considerably. It is always refreshing to encounter a server who not only fulfills their role efficiently but also takes genuine pride in ensuring guests have a memorable visit. His timing was impeccable, and he exhibited an intuitive understanding of when to check in and when to allow us to enjoy our meal uninterrupted.

As for the cuisine, the lime-flavored fajita stood out as the highlight of the meal. The citrus undertones provided a refreshing contrast to the savory elements of the dish, elevating it beyond the standard fajita fare. Each bite was a testament to the careful balance of seasoning and preparation. However, while I generally found the meal enjoyable, I was less enthusiastic about the cheese. Wow!!! I wish I could give this place 20 stars!😍 From the first moment of walking through the arches and seeing the immaculate landscaping and lovely decor to the first contact of the friendly, solicitous staff, and then to the delicious food, we were just amazed at every step! We were greeted by multiple members of the staff, our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and anticipated our every need, and the chef even brought us an adorable fajita sample on the cutest tiny home made tortilla! I've never had a chef come to the table except one time at a 5 star restaurant- this was over the top best service ever! The decor inside is so lovely and rustic, very unique- someone put a lot of thought into this place, and it was also immaculately clean! And the FOOD! Ooohhhh, the food was absolutely delicious! I could smell the yummy warm scent of cumin when we walked in the door, and when the rice got to the table I found out where it was coming from! Mmmmmm! We had the amazing fajitas and shrimp brochette, tableside guacamole, and chicken tortilla soup- everything we ate was top notch! I think this was in the top 3 best meals I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant! And the number 1 best tortillas I've ever eaten anywhere especially the very unique corn tortillas! We will definitely be coming back- we have to come at least 8 more times to be able to try everything we wanted to eat today, lol, and I can't wait for cooler weather to sit on their lovely patio for lunch!
