I wanted to take the time to review Teriyaki Madness Kingwood as there are so few options for this type of food around and those that are around are horrible.
We moved here 3 years ago from the PNW where asian cuisine is everywhere and relatively speaking it all tastes good at a minimum with some being great. There are slow/fast/medium and everything in between options there. We've struggled for 3 years to find a place that was consistently decent enough to spend our money on, Teriyaki Madness fits that bill.
We happened upon this place as my girlfriend had to spend a couple days in the hospital and a family member brought up a chicken bowl to her. She absolutely loved it, she immediately called me and told me how excited she was because as I've stated already we've spent 3 years missing and trying to find decent food in this category.
On her way home from the hospital she stopped off and got two more bowls and brought them home for me to try. Amazing, chicken has an amazing grill flavor to it, vegetables are on point and crispy, and the fried rice pairs well with the combo. As a pretty big bonus, their teriyaki sauce is equally as good, while my girlfriend and I both agree that the food itself tastes more than good enough to stand on its own (which a lot of places can't take credit for).
Today before the big freeze I decided to drive the 20 minutes and get another few bowls to throw in the fridge so we wouldn't have to cook and to try a couple other things. I ended up getting 4, the normal chicken bowl, spicy chicken bowl, steak bowl, and lastly the yakisoba. My girlfriend loves noodles, so many places get it so wrong but I am happy to report that the noodles are great.
The spicy chicken had just the right amount of spice and the flavor of that spice was also very good. A lot of places just annihilate their food with spice and the flavor isn't exceptional, there definitely isn't the case here. The steak was shockingly good. It was thinly cut which at first I was a little apprehensive about, but each bite had just the right amount of toothsomeness to it while being moist with a nice grilled taste. The yakisoba as I mentioned was great as well, the noodles weren't dry, they had a nice chew to them, and the flavor was quite good as well.
I could go on and on, the biggest reason I wanted to make the effort to write a review is in hopes the store gets enough business to stick around. We have so few options here off of 59/69 that having something close to an offramp, easy to get to, in a nice area is a...
Read morewhen we first walked in, i immediately got the vibe of the place. with its slogans on the posters around to their staff shirts of “really addictive,” and its bold color of red being all around, especially the high rise menu above certainly is quite different from traditional restaurants. it gives an energetic atmosphere and gives the reaction to all of “oh, this place is fun.”
and with the owners and staff, they were super, and i mean super, friendly, even with the owners making small talk and engaging with us, which really got an insight of who they are, hardworking and diligent!
and must i say the food! i love how they list the calories with each size of junior, regular, and i believe there was a large, but trust me, getting a regular already suffices! i’ve recently been on a fitness journey, so this place gets my worries of calories and protein solved at once! and with each size, you can make it a combo and choose what rice you would like, noodles, or even veggies! and its comes with enough rice to compliment the meat you choose! and going back to the combo, if you do make it into one, you’re treated with a delighted crab rangoon or an egg roll, both of which go well with what ever meal you choose!
overall, this place, especially its location being right next to h-e-b and along the road really helps it to be a great spot to either stop and eat, or after you’re done with your groceries and have been dying to eat (but wanting to save your snacks, lol.) the people, the food, and the atmosphere all mixes well and i can’t wait to come back and try new...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this place for the first time, craving some delicious teriyaki. Unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired.
Upon entering, we were greeted, which was a nice touch. However, that warm welcome quickly turned into a rushed experience. The cashier kept asking us what we wanted as soon as we walked in, making it feel like we were on a time limit to order. We barely had a moment to glance at the menu before we felt pressured to make a decision. It was a bit overwhelming, and to make matters worse, she kept cutting us off while we were trying to place our order.
The dining area is small, but thankfully, it was empty when we arrived. After finally placing our order (which we did just to escape the constant questioning), we took a seat and waited for our food.
When our chicken teriyaki arrived, I was really disappointed. I’d give it a solid 3/10. The fried rice was completely soggy, and overall, the food didn’t seem fresh at all.
Given the rushed service and the lackluster quality of the food, we won’t be returning. It’s unfortunate because we were really looking forward to...
