While it was initially exciting to learn there was a Mackenzie-Childs retailer in Kingwood, that excitement wore off about five seconds after entering the building. There is a decent selection of MC items, but the environment in the store is not pleasant at all. The staff follow you around incessantly and constantly want to hold what you are buying at the counter rather than let you keep it while you continue shopping. There is a large monitor of cameras over the checkout counter which clearly is intended to inform you that you’re being watched. That’s fine and within their rights (albeit not in alignment with what the typical customer of MC or Pandora would want to shop in), but at some point it is a little degrading to be followed like a crook when you came in with intentions of buying a sizable amount of inventory.

I then discovered the life size cutout of the actual crook in the building (Trump) and decided to order everything online instead. The first time I shopped here, one of the women followed me around the store as if I were going to steal something. I did my best to ignore it but it was making me extremely uncomfortable. I bought a few hundred dollars worth of items and left. The second time I shopped here, I was followed around again and it bothered me a little more that time. That day, I bought a watch for my mother-in-law and spent another hundred or so. Today was the third and final time I shopped here. One of the women followed me almost around the entire store, always making sure she had me in her sights while I was trying to shop. I’m a mother of 3 and manage two businesses. I was attempting to spend the few precious moments I actually have to myself doing some relaxing shopping and grazing around the store but it was ruined. I don’t appreciate being treated like a thief. Especially not after spending so much in this store. I would never do my customers this way, it’s insulting. I’m a well-mannered woman in my thirties, nothing I was doing should have said “watch her” to them. I will...
