Magnolia's Ice Cream & More — Restaurant in Houston

I love this place! I been coming here since they first opened, I was in high school at the time and now I'm 29. Time sure flies by! The owners are sisters from what i can remember and are the sweetest. It has changed so much inside, im happy to see they are doing good. If you find yourself in the hood in Magnolia, you have to come here. Especially if you are visiting Houston, come here for some delicious treats! I usually get a Magonada but I do a scoop of mango and a scoop of pineapple gelato with some strawberries on top and some chamoy gummy bears and chamoy watermelon candies. I asked for their selection of sorbet, ordered pineapple and lime only to find out that the pineapple has dairy (I’m allergic to dairy). I asked for a new one with dairy free options but was asked to pay for a new order. Lost a long time customer.

Response: Sorbet is low-fat and dairy-free. I should not have to state a dairy allegory if the definition of sorbet is a dairy-free dessert, if it was to include dairy or egg it would be called sherbet. After finding out it had dairy I asked if I could replace it with an actual sorbet flavor but they said I would have to pay for it, so of course I would be upset. I found out about this place from one of our drug reps. I went twice in one week. This place is literally on the other side of town from me, it takes about 35 mins to get there but it was worth it.  My husband and I ordered and I went back to the car to wait. My husband walked to the car with the order and an employee followed behind him saying he didn't pay. I had to find the receipt to show him.  Everyone outside was looking at us and I felt so humiliated. He didn't offer an apology but he did say thanks.  Unfortunately, I am too embarrassed to go back to this place.  Keep your receipts when you go this place. They may just accuse you...
