I normally don't write reviews, but I'll take this as a sign to start for both places I love and places like this. My first time here and I won't be back. I don't complain much. I have friends that own restaurants and I knew people who worked restaurants low level back in the day. I know how it can get, but this was just unacceptable. I placed an order online for pickup through their website. Got there and the guy tells me 6 minutes. No prob. I didn't see that they had a drive thru, so I opted to leave the windows down while my dog & daughter waited for this "quick pick up", which ended up being over a 20 MINUTE WAIT with customers who came after me being served. All the while I'm texting my daughter to make sure they were OK. These guys took SEVERAL DRIVE THRU ORDERS ahead of mine and completely forgot about me. They weren't even very busy. The restaurant was literally completely empty, but the tables were filthy with trash and food scraps. The guys were chilling in the back a few times while they had NO ORDERS, YET I WAS STILL WAITING FOR MINE. I went back to the counter and he apologized, I told him I would've just gone through the drive through then he proceeded to start an minor argument about not giving out door dash orders at the window. I said I'm not a door dash order, I ordered through your web site and he proceeded to keep pointing at the screen like I was an imbecile. Man, look, I know you can do pos through a 3rd party and have it listed as such but I told him this was my personal order. I'm a 36 year old woman who was completely concerned about leaving my dog and daughter in the car in the heat for so long for something that should've taken 5-10 minutes TOPS for a pickup order. Mind you this is right after the storm and many still being without power. No doubt he was incredibly disrespectful because I look young for my age and thought it was for a 3rd party delivery. I tried calling their service number afterward only to be met with a "full mailbox" and no other way to speak with anyone outside of the establishment. Most places deserve more grace and appreciation than they receive, but THIS PLACE was just terrible. Even the outside of my containers were dirty. Not to mention the guy at the front had his pants sagging and every time he lifted his arms, his shirt went up and I saw his butt crack... not his underwear. Completely lost my appetite and only got it because my daughter wanted to try it. Now I know, never again. Just...

This was my first time stopping by Maybird Hot Chicken, and let me just say — I’m seriously impressed. I wasn’t expecting much at first since I’ve been to so many fast food joints that claim to serve “the best chicken tenders,” but Maybird really delivered something different — and honestly, better.
Let’s start with the chicken itself. I ordered the two slider combo, and from the first bite, I could tell this wasn’t your average fast food chicken. The meat was exceptionally tender, like fall-apart soft, yet juicy and flavorful throughout. It had that perfect crispy outside with a moist and tender inside that’s so hard to find. Most places overcook or under-season, but not here. The flavor was balanced — a little kick, a little sweetness, and a whole lot of satisfaction.
The sliders were next-level. I have to rave about the buns — they were so soft, I genuinely felt like I was touching a cloud. No exaggeration. They’re pillowy but strong enough to hold all the goodness inside without falling apart. That little detail made a big difference in the overall experience. Paired with the crispy chicken and whatever sauce magic they’re working with, it was absolutely delicious.
Now, onto the sides — the combo meal came with fries, but I love that they let you substitute for waffle fries at no extra charge. That’s a rare move, and a big win in my book. The waffle fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned — not greasy or soggy like some places.
The atmosphere of the place was also a nice surprise. It’s clean, well-organized, and has its own unique vibe with quirky chicken-themed decor that adds character without being over-the-top. It felt like a place that knows what it is and embraces it — fun, casual, and welcoming.
The service was quick and efficient, even during a busy lunch rush. My order came out fast, and everything was hot and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful, which always adds to the experience.
Overall, I’m giving Maybird major props. I honestly wasn’t expecting to love it this much, but here I am — writing a glowing review and already planning my return. If you’re a fan of chicken sliders or just appreciate fast food done right, you owe it to yourself to check this place out.
Bravo, Maybird — you’ve officially earned a spot in my top chicken slider joints. See...
Read moreDo NOT order this restaurant on GrubHub for delivery. Until they fix this, you will not get your food. (6.4.2024) After waiting for 20 min past the expected delivery time, I called the restaurant for an update as it says to do on GrubHub. They had no idea what was going on.
GrubHub clearly says online that this restaurant has their own driver for delivery. When I called, the person who picked up the phone and the manager both said they're supposed to wait for a GrubHub driver. They said that Grubhub takes longer to pick up than DoorDash or Uber Eats. After I clearly expressed to them that GrubHub has them set up in a way that the restaurant is supposed to deliver, that's the answer I got.
So then when I called GrubHub, they had to refund my order as they have that the restaurant is supposed to deliver.
I understand that I ordered through GrubHub, but as a restaurant using a delivery courier it's on you to make sure that it's set up right. Then, it's upto you to handle errors/situations correctly. Not upto the customer to solve/find out the exact issues and then have it be ignored.
Things like this happen, but the reason I felt the need to share this review was because I was disregarded when I first called the restaurant with this issue. Then, I called back after finding out the miscommunication between the restaurant and GrubHub so that they can fix it and I was treated as an inconvenience and did not feel heard. I do not feel confident that this issue will be fixed and that other people will also not get their food delivery for this restaurant using GH.
Sucks to be hungry after an hour of ordering food and to feel disregarded for trying to help when the restaurant set up their delivery wrong with GrubHub.
Also, I tried ordering delivery through their web site first and it wouldn't even acknowledge that I put an actual address in (I was using a chrome browser app on an android if there is actual interest in fixing this problem as well).
I was really looking forward to trying their food and was really disappointed with the whole experience.
Updated: Yup. Found out that someone had the same issue going back even Jan. of this year. I wish I would've seen that review...
