Keeping in mind that this is 3-star accomodations, and the more than reasonable price point, I really don't have any complaints.
ROOMS: The rooms are very spacious, generously appointed, and very comfortable. My room had 2 queen beds with a fluffy comforter and clean sheets. Mattress was supportive, neither being too soft or too firm. Pillows were fluffy and had e to each bed. There's a night stand, entertainment center with television, desk, fridge, sitting area, and a wet bar with a coffee maker and supplies. The bathroom was a good size with ample lightening, large vanity with a mirror, a bathtub / shower combo, and clean linen. Hair dryer was provided along with some basic toiletries.
BREAKFAST: This hotel had stopped breakfast when the COVID-19 outbreak had first began, but after a few years without it, I was pleasantly surprised to see they brought it back, though it's very simple and light.
This morning was: Frosted flakes, toast, milk, juice, and coffee along with some fresh fruit options of apples and bananas (perfectly ripened). Butter, jellies and preserves, and fixings for your coffee were also available. It's not much, but again... Price point! I was happy with it and extremely greatful for the thoughtful offerings. They didn't have to serve anything, but they did, and they did it well and with pride. No complaints at all. They had cream cheese as well, so I'm assuming they usually have bagels, which would have been great. I'm assuming they just ran out.
RESTAURANTS GALORE: There's also an IHOP right next door. Easy 1 minute walk. Dunkin' Donuts, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Kolache Factory, etc... is around the corner on Westheimer. Probably a leisurely 10 minute walk. Burger King and Jack in the Box is straight down the service road towards Richmond. There's a side walk the whole way and it's about a 5-7 minute walk.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: I didn't interact with the staff much, but when I did they were pleasant enough, and answered all of my questions. No complaints there either.
LOCATION: Right off the service road. Gas stations on both ends, open 24/7. Restaurants and fast food all around. Shopping options in every direction. There's also a gym very close by, in addition to the one within the hotel. Everything is very, very walkable and multiple buses that are easily accessible to take you around town.
WOULD I RETURN? Yes, most definitely.
WOULD I RECOMMEND? Without hesitation or reservation.
NOTE: Don't let the older reviews scare you off. I've been coming here for years. The older reviews are pretty much all accurate - HOWEVER - the hotel has gone through many improvements.
IMPROVEMENTS: The rooms and hotel in general is clean enough, but I feel they could spend a little more time with the bathrooms. It's not bad, just...
Read moreBy far one of the absolute worst hotel experiences, experienced in my adult life if I was paid a large sum of money to refer someone to this hotel I would pay to have the person stay clear of this hell hole disguised as a hotel so grateful it's OVER!!! Where do I start so we were supposed to stay for three nights as soon as you walk through the door you see a sign that indicates to you a $5 to $15 if any of your tiles are soiled to the point that they cannot get clean okay I guess that makes sense however every towel that was in our room was filthy so I guess the guests before us did not get that memo...toilet seat was broke to the point where every time we sat down we almost fell into the toilet but no worries we tried to make the best of the situation.. brought it to the front desk attention and was advised that we would be able to switch our room good deal we go to our next room and that room is just as bad so we get transferred to another room the refrigerator was nasty and had a spoiled milk smell to it but okay we're going to make the best of it I go into the bathroom and there is a huge roach in the bathroom just walking around I immediately was frustrated to the point of no reasoning and advised my Husband that we need to leave. As we're heading back to the front desk there's a baby roach near the elevator... We discreetly try to explain to the front desk what was going on and instead of him being accommodating He wanted to know why we didn't want to just try another room at this point the general manager stepped in and advised him that that was not the correct thing to do and that he did it's a refund our money in full which he did According to the advertisement we were supposed to get complimentary breakfast that consists of falafels in a dispensary machine that wouldn't come out the facility is actually a nursing home disguised as a hotel it's pretty sad in the building had a really pungent smell it reminds you of the urine and feces mixed together with vomit very disturbing 😢 and the way the guy at the front desk spoke to us....it was clear he does this often without being challenged. After reading this if you're still confused as to if you should book a stay here...DON'T run 🏃♀️ not walk to a more repable franchise pay more to have a poop pee roachand stress free stay...piece of mind is priceless I will NEVER do business with this hotel or any other association with...
Read moreI have stayed at this hotel several times this last year and have found it exceptionally accomodating each and every stay. Unfortunately one of my stays was during the hurricane harvey experience. I can say without reservation that the way ownership and management handled its customers during this disaster was nothing short of amazing. Under normal circumstances any hotel has its challenges' but during this time the hotel rose to the task. When other businesses were without key employees during the storm and it aftermath this hotel was alway spot on as to cleanliness (which in its self was exceptional) . Laundry remained operational so we and others always had fresh linnens and towels and any other reasonable request. The rooms are large with nice furniture and comfortable mattresses. Ms. Laura Rodriquez was always on site and made sure that the customers and staff had what they needed. I watched her remain cool in the most trying of times. Mr. Daniel Yeh the owner was on site nearly every day making sure customers and the hotel had what it needed while he could have been home during the storm. I have since stayed at the hotel on more than one occasion and found the hotel to be run just as professionally as one would hope. I would not hesitate to recomment this hotel to family and friends and continue to use it for business purposes as it is convienient and in the energy corridor with services and restaurants nearby. I would like to add that after the storm the hotel was full with transient construction workers for cleaning up after the hurricane. lesser hotels would have and did falter during this time. The clarion didnt miss a beat. Dealing with mud and debris being tracked in by the construction workers was a task and handled well with courtesy and a mind toward civic responsibility when it could have easily raised their prices due to the stortage of rooms in the houston area. I would also like to add that after reading a few other reviews i was compelled to write this one. It was difficult pleasing some of the more difficult of customers and Ms. Rodriquez and the owner woud not tolerate activities that affected their other customers. I wittnessed several occassions where management had to ask others to respect owther guests and this was done firmly and respectfully.
Sincerely

ps: I would rate this hotel between 4-5 stars...
