i finally gave this place a try and i know i will be back. i thought it was a wine bar and it is, just right now due to covid they don't have any indoor seating, only outside.
they have so many types of wine and cheese at the store, you can either buy from them directly or order and to-go the leftovers. i really like how they have a separate parking area because montrose parking can be a hassle.
this day was gloomy and the rain started. i cannot forget everyone's kindness, all the staffs were incredibly nice! i was sitting outdoor and they made sure i stayed dry and they checked on me couple of times which was very thoughtful.
while in the store, i explained that i am just getting into wine and they introduced what they offer and i had a lovely conversation. if you look closely at the wine cellar, you can see staff's picks. they also sell several products there, i think it was for cooking!
this day i ordered a full glass of sparkling rose and 3 kinds of cheese board. it was brie and two other cheese, i just remember how the floral? cheese wasn't for me. their bread is so yummy btw, i really enjoyed my hour here despite the...
Read moreGreat atmosphere with an awesome vibe. I had a guy help me out on my first trip there, and he was awesome. It was a bigger guy, he was shorter - I wish I got his name because he CARES! You can tell, anyhow, I got a cheese kit that he suggested, and he let me sample a few, it’s a small business so I’m not going to try every single cheese there as that’s pretty rude, but he offered me a few samples and I loved it. He made me want to come back. I brought my mom here a few days ago, and the experience was not near as good or helpful, the monger behind the showcase was not as helpful and didn’t seem to want to make a sale. I spent over $100 on cheese and crackers and she couldn’t care less which was extremely disappointing, BUT my mom who has a really hard time hearing mentioned the music was loud and they jumped right on that and turned it down. That was great and the main reason I’m giving 5 stars instead of 4 because although the experience the second time wasn’t as informative or fun, it was still great and I appreciated...
Read moreA very cozy and inviting atmosphere, with a decent assortment of cheeses available for purchase. We sat and had a cheese board and a bottle of wine, which is something we've done at several similar establishments in and around Houston and the hill country. If I may make a suggestion, the three cheeses on the cheese board were rather plain, and a comparatively small amount when compared to other cheese boards in the 20+ range at similar small venues. I recommend increasing the amount of cheese slightly so it feels like it is a greater value. Also, other similar places offer a selection of cheeses, rather than the fixed items we received. The lack of selection (especially when there are several in the case) felt a bit cheap and subtracted from the experience. We may consider going back, as we did like the ambience and decor :-) Tweak the cheese and charcuterie boards by offering a selection and you'll...
