How to Survive on Land and Sea’s manager, Cory excels at recommending wines at a great value for your money. Cory recently recommended several French wines and several Italian wines at excellent unbeatable prices. Each wine had its own distinctive flavor, they were rich, full bodied and smooth wines. My wife knows a little about wines, but she trusts Cory, as this was my third visit and professionally, he is a wine expert. He is knowledgeable about the grapes and the regions that they come from. If you tell him what you are looking for, he will try to find it or something comparable. My guests enjoyed the wines as each was a delight and a new tasteful adventure. The bar staff were very helpful, waited on the clientele quickly, were busy cleaning tables and kept great music going as the wine bar has an extensive collection of rare vintage LP’s, everything from salsa, jazz, heavy metal, rock and roll, etc. Having a superb wine bar with comfortable chairs, sofas and a welcoming bar staff, with an wine expert to assist in your wine purchasing in Houston’s East End is...

Read moreI was looking forward to checking out Neighbors, but after my experience, I won’t be making that mistake again. We walked in around 8 PM on a Saturday night, expecting a lively atmosphere. Instead, the place was almost empty, and the energy was nonexistent.
Despite there being four bartenders behind the bar, not a single one acknowledged us. One was busy on their laptop, while the others just stood around. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes without a greeting, a menu, or even eye contact. At that point, we had enough and decided to leave.
We walked just a block over to Eight Row Flint East End, and the difference was immediate. We were greeted right away, the service was excellent, the drinks were on point, and the food was fantastic. Plus, there was an amazing DJ spinning records, adding to the overall vibe. We ended up spending over $150, and it was absolutely worth it—a night well spent at a place that actually cares about its customers.
If you’re thinking about going to Neighbors, don’t waste your time. Instead, go to Eight Row Flint East End—we will definitely...
