DISCRIMINATION without proper or legit explanation. I was here earlier in the evening while me and my friend had to use the restroom. It was already a red flag when she didn’t have her ID on her and she clearly looks over 30 years old. They were doing the most just so we could pee before boarding a party bus. Abuse of power already from heavily padded security (what’s up with that?) and I already showed my legit drivers license which showed that I am 43 years old (clean cut looking female). We came back later after being on a party bus. I was sober, and my friend may have looked a little buzzed. Ok? We were there to eat, and I am the designated driver. Nevertheless, we did not have any intention of consuming any hard liquor, if any alcohol at all. (Maybe a corona with my meal and that’s it.) I’m not about to let my friend throw up in my car later either. Duh. I was the driver- responsible and very accountable. We simply tried to walk back through the door later in the evening about 2 1/2 hours later and we’re accused of “drinking.” What does that even mean? If someone has been drinking, don’t you think that it would be appropriate to serve them food? I had 100% intentions of consuming the Mexico City tacos combo. My friend was also going to have a meal as well. Once again, we were not going to indulge in alcohol. And the group of 10 guys we were with also walked in and they let them in. They had been drinking heavier than any of us. All we wanted to do was eat and we were denied. We couldn’t even use the bathroom or get some water if we desperately needed to. I called the cops because I didn’t understand what the hell was going on. The cops came out, said that they had a right to refuse me for any BS reason. and then they tried to make me get in an Uber and go all the way back to the southwest side. As if!!! So, me and my friends turned around after one mile in the Uber, came back and got my car and OF COURSE me and my friend made it home safely like I knew we would. The manager is a w I m p y little guy and I don’t understand why he didn’t try to give us a resolution. There was no issue. I am a female who is dressed fully closed, appropriate and sober. All I wanted was a meal and I got denied that. I would not give these people my business because they do not care about anybody. They let their three security guards at the front push people around for no reason. I was manhandled to the point where I almost fell, but I refused. There was absolutely no reason for that. I don’t know what kind of drama has been up with this place. This must be a dangerous place to eat at! 3 armed security guards that block the entrance way! I’ve never seen that at a basic Mexican restaurant/sports bar. But after yelling at the security guards because I don’t know who they thought they were, then they accuse me of drama when I’m not the one who brought the drama. Once again, totally responsible, sober enough to do anything. I even dared the cops to give me a DUI test because I was that confident and they refused. They decided to be just as ridiculous as this unprofessional chain location. So I don’t respect them anymore either. Trust me. The point I’m trying to make is nobody needs to give this establishment their business. If you have any complaints, they simply don’t care. They’ll just discriminate against you and send you away and accuse you of drinking even though you are not drunk. If I can walk into an IHOP or anywhere else and be served food because I need to eat then why can’t this place serve me food as well? I am absolutely appalled, disgusted, and confused. I have NEVER had this happen to me before. This location is a complete disappointment and shock. And I’m sitting here sober over an hour after I got home...

I was there on 03.22.25 (Sat), around 4:45pm. Wasn't that busy. Normal. I was sat at a table right next to the bar on the north/east side of the bar. Got a menu, but no server. I look at a guy sitting at the table before mine (same isle/row by the bar) & I don't see anyone servicing him either. But I'm not sure what his deal was or how long he'd been there. Still looked like he was getting no service. A couple of tables on the very next row to us actually do have servers. I look at the menu, I look around to see if anyone sees me. I do stuff on my phone... Nothing. Eventually all the girls come out frm wherever they were at, but I'm still not being acknowledged. So I take my menu to the bar. Sit next to a guy having wings. But no one comes to me to see if I need anything. After some time, the guy goes "You have to flag them down". I ask him "Which one's the best one, or the most attentive?", halfway joking. He tells me & I decide to wait on her to get her attention. No one's paying attention, so he actually flags another girl down for me. She comes & takes my order & tells me I need to pay upfront. Then asks if I'm gonna be closing out (then I wouldn't need to pay upfront). I tell her I'm going to close out after I eat (ordered a burger w fries & an ice tea). So then she brings the receipt & places it in front of me. I see it, but I don't plan to grab it until I'm done (just in case). After a bit, she asks if I'm ready to pay... I look at her & say "Yeah"... Not rude or anything, but I thought "Ok... I guess this will just make sure I purchase absolutely nothing else"... So I went ahead and paid. Now, I don't believe in not tipping, so I left a $5 bill. But I didn't really feel like tipping at that point... So I left the $5 & thought I'll just write a review. I don't wanna mention any names bc I don't wanna get anyone in trouble, but I do wanna say that service can be a lot better & it wouldn't have taken much.
Also, I have a photography gig down the street frm there so they'll probably be seeing a lot of me this summer lol. I wear a fedora hat & always have my camera with me. So, say hi! Until the next review. Hopefully...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with the recent visit that we had here.
My boyfriend and I have noticed that Houston doesn't really have anywhere that has Taco Tuesdays. Or at least we can't find any place that does.
So we called Ojos Locos to see if they do. The person that we talked to said "Yeah we have Taco Tuesday we just add an extra $5 to the $9.99 taco plate and you can have unlimited tacos". The person that we spoke to (who we found out later was the manager) said that with no hesitation. He was very confident in his answer. My boyfriend and I got excited and headed straight over there. We made it to Ojos Locos within 15 minutes of making that phone call.
We get there and it took 10 minutes for anyone to even come and take our drinks. The manager came over and asked us what we wanted and we gave him our drink orders and also said that we were going to do the Taco Tuesday special. He looked at us very confused and said "I don't think we do that, let me go check".
My boyfriend and I are confused as well and very irritated at this point. Right after the manager leaves our waitress comes and asks us for our drinks. We stated we have already put in our drinks but were trying to get the Taco Tuesday all you can eat tacos. She, too, was confused by our request and went to see if they offered that.
Our waitress comes back and says that they in fact do NOT do the unlimited tacos. We proceeded to tell her that we were specifically told with confidence that they do offer that. She brought the manager back over and he admitted to saying that he was the person that we talked to on the phone yet he was still acting like he knew NOTHING about Taco Tuesdays. To retain business he offered to give us that deal but we were far too disappointed with how the whole situation played out and did not want to spend our money somewhere that lacks communication skills and knowledge of their menu specials.
We are extremely upset that this happened because we were fans...
